Description

A suburban library like so many others, Tidball had little unique features. Its plain brick facade and its limited collection of books never were interesting enough to attract huge crowds.

History

Pre-Malton Incident

The portrait of the bearded man.

Built in 1972 for reasons that remain unclear to this day: there was little interest in the whole project when the papers were signed, and that didn't change when the mayor dropped by to lay down the first brick or 9 months later when, in July 1972, he returned once more to Some NecroTech employees of the nearby Pankhurst Building who where bored during lunch hours, visited the library, but more often than not it was deserted, apart from Mrs. Apenhurst. Mrs. Abigal apenhurst was the librarian ever since Tidball library opened its doors. As far as anyone knew, she arrived along with a complete collection of copies of the United States Congressional Serial Set, 1817 to 1931. According to the locals, she had always been old, but nobody knew exactly how old, as the old lady kept maintaining the dusty shelves. Above her desk hung an old portrait of a bearded man, which she had brought with her when she arrived. She dissappeared without saying a word in January 2005, leaving her precious Serial Set and the portrait behind, never to return.

An urban legend speaks of the archives of the nearby NecroTech facility, the Pankhurst Building, as well as the offices next to it, the Bayford Building, hidden deep in the library's rumoured vaults. However, no one has ever been able to confirm this myth up to this point.

Post Malton Incident

  • August 24th to 27th, 2007 - Tidball was temporarily home to the Quartly Study Group on Tour. Six weeks of open-air coexistence among zombies and humans was brought to an end in the Tidball Massacre, courtesy of Extinction. Undaunted and undead, the librarians continued with a reading of Harrah Rotter.
  • August 5, 2011 - Tidball Library is reported safe by one of the Knights of St. Jude.
  • September 18, 2011 - A licensed NecroTechnician travels through town and reports the building to be safe.
