The Malton Zookeepers are a survivor group located in Ketchelbank. Formed in January 2006, they are dedicated to the maintenance of Malton's only zoo. The location of Malton's City Zoo, sandwiched between the Zombiefied Republic of !zanbah and the traditional zombie hometown of Ridleybank and more than 10 blocks away from the nearest mall, makes this task a difficult one. The Zookeepers don't mind, however, and do their job with their signature good attitude and sense of humor day in and day out.
Structure/Goals
The Malton Zookeepers were co-founded by two players who one day found themselves sheltering from the zombie horde in the bear pit of Malton's City Zoo. Almost simultaneously, the two were struck with the same epiphany - an idea that compelled them to found an elite group of janitors, rangers and handlers called The Malton Zookeepers. Whether this sequence of events was the result of cosmic fate or the potent mix of noxious fumes rising from the dung heap, we will never know.
Since that fateful day, the Zookeepers have grown to be a large and well organized group that maintains two revive points and safe sleeping places for visitors both in and around the Zoo. Our staff includes humans, animals, and zombies who are all proud to call the Zoo home, and work hard to make it the number one attraction in Malton.
Goals include:
i) Keep the enclosures clear of zombies or full of zombies, where appropriate
ii) Maintain safehouses and entry points in and around the zoo, so visitors of all skill levels can enjoy themselves
iii) Defend all animals of the City Zoo.
iv) Maintain an unbarricaded "Zombie Animal Enclosure" (formerly "The Reptile House") as a permanent exhibit. Here, the general public is able to observe domesticated zombie animals from a safe distance.
v) Maintain an unbarricaded "Zombie Visitor Center" (formerly "The Aquarium") where any zombie visitors to the zoo may rest, gently swaying, out of the rain.
vii) Maintain two revive clinics: St. Pius's Church [41,29] and St. Matthias's Church [46,33]
viii) Make regular informative and entertaining broadcasts on Malton Zoo Radio
ix) Do everything in our power to keep all the pants on all the monkeys
x) Promote the ethics of good zookeeping and generally have a great time

Zoo Events
Zoo Services
Veterinary Services
If you wake up a little dead during your visit, the Malton Zookeepers run two revive points in the area, both staffed by highly trained monkeys and veterinarians. Feel free to use this handy list of revification points to see the latest status reports or submit one of your own.
- St. Pius's Church (request revives here) [41,29]
- St. Matthias's Church (request revives here)[46,33]
The Veterinary Staff maintains a DNR, or Do Not Resuscitate list. This is NOT a list of bounties or list of those whom we feel should be hunted. It is merely a tool to be used to avoid the revivification of those who have proven to be a hinderance to the zoo and general area and who would do harm to the Zookeepers and our guests if allowed to breathe.
If you feel your name has been added to our DNR list unfairly, you can report your objections here.

Petting Zoo
Aside from the main Zoo, the Zookeepers are also in the process of setting up Petting Zoos at several locations in Malton. Just because you're not in Ketchelbank doesn't mean you shouldn't be able stroke a lizard. The first Petting Zoo is now open for business in the Horsey Museum in Shackleville.

The Thinking Monkey brings luck to friends of the Malton City Zoo! |
Maintaining the zoo is a full time job, and one that the Malton Zookeepers take very seriously. Because a Zookeeper might be called upon to clean out a monkey's cage, hose down an elephant stall, or attend to the needs of zoo visitors at any time, we don't tend to leave the zoo much. Therefore, it's kind of hard to have "allies" in a traditional sense. However, there are some repeat zoo visitors who have always been more than willing to lend a hand when they're in town! For that reason, the following groups are considered official Friends of the Zoo:
The Gingerbread Men
for our age old friendship and the support they give us. and for their gum-drop buttons.
The Broadway Zombies brought their amazing show Zah Rahan G!ng (The Lion King) to the zoo and gave visitors some of the best nights' entertainment available in Malton. In return, they now have lifetime season tickets for the zoo and our undying friendship. The hyenas were played by members of the Jascha Pohl Sucks Zombies, to whom the zoo will always be open.
The Sun Organization are legitimate businessmen and zoo enthusiasts, operating in the Brooke Hills area.
Malton Tours Inc are our closest friends in Malton, frequently bringing their tours to the zoo helping out when things got rough more than once.
The Antediluvians are the zoo's second newest friends and helped to us provide comprehensive first-aid services for zoo visitors during their stay in Redpath Alley School.
The Feral Undead. They, like us, know that playing Urban Dead is all about having fun!
Detulux Inc is a thoroughly legal, law-abiding business who's employees often visit the zoo. The fact they are listed here has nothing to do with the large bank deposit made to the zoo's Boardroom members. Really, it doesn't.....
Hel's Daughters because they are really hot cold zombie chicks. What's not to like?
Axes High are the Zoo's newest friends. Welcome to the neighborhood, guys!
