- Please post new comments at the bottom, using the highest-level header (=header name=).
- I'll reply on your talk page if you contact me here.
- Cheers.
- For any users posting a sixth (or, indeed, seventh or beyond) topic on this page, full permission is granted to move the oldest topic in its entirety to the relevant archive.
- Not that any of you will ever do it, but it's worth disclaimer-ing it to avoid unnecessary A/VB shitepipery.
Your ruling
May I please game the system by adding three white "a"s to the front of my party's name?--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 22:43, 4 June 2010 (BST)
- You cannot. 22:52, 4 June 2010 (BST)
- While I'm here, you're an RG mod, right? If so, I'd like to point out that my first two registered kills (The Account is Yonnua Koponen) are in fact the same kill from different perspectives, reported a day apart. I know because, as a player who was only a month or so old, I did not have the physical power to kill someone twice in two days. As such, I'd like to formally request that my harshest escalation from that point (5 points), is removed, as I should never have reached that escalation. Consider this a very rage-filled appeal to have my bounty halfed. Or, don't. Whatever really, I just thought after 2 and a half years of not being a PKer I should probably deal with it.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 23:04, 4 June 2010 (BST)
- Or, if that doesn't work for you, I have Four Bounty reports against me.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 23:10, 4 June 2010 (BST)
- Be taking it to the forums, all that stuff needs to be able to be traced to public postings. 23:19, 4 June 2010 (BST)
- Will do.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 23:21, 4 June 2010 (BST)

Hai i have a problem with your summation, the zombiecratic and humanitive parties provided a general platform for multiple candidates to run under the last election, from reading the arby page it seems to be assumed that only one candidate can run under either party? This was not the case in the last election, those who wanted to run under a more specialised platform created their own party, as has been the case her up until this point. Furthermore i am of the opinion that any discussion which affects the actual layout of the page should be done on the talk page allowing all affected parties to contribute instead of inside an arbitration case limited to two people ♥ Moonie Talk | Testimonials 00:10, 5 June 2010 (BST)
Mis, what was done before is that the Major parties had primary elections to decide who actually ran for their party. That was why they were called Major parties, and was the major discrepency between the majors and minors.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 00:24, 5 June 2010 (BST)
- Malton is English, use an English system. Also stop confusing my drunk brain. 00:25, 5 June 2010 (BST)
- Yeah, but it was based on a presidential election, and was made by Americans, so that's the system they used. I wanted a By-election, but no, it had to be a mayoral elction. :( --Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 00:26, 5 June 2010 (BST)
- Sounds to me like the simple solution is to allow any party to have primaries if they are contested, since it treats them all the same. American or British government be damned, since it's the simple answer that works. :P —Aichon— 04:45, 5 June 2010 (BST)
- Fuck that shit, why are there major in the first place? Just make them all on level pegging. --
- As far as i understood they were major because they provided a general platform for candidates to run under: survivor and zombie. The minor parties were for people who were running under another platform say fundameltalists, PKers, pimp hat supporters. ♥ Moonie Talk | Testimonials 08:34, 5 June 2010 (BST)
- Ahh. I think they should all just be equal but that's just cause I want Blob as mayor. --
- The problem there is that they aren't really serving that purpose right now. The zombie canidate is running under a third party, while a PKer (yourself) is running on the survivor ticket instead of a third party. Since the major parties aren't serving their intended purposes (survivor and zombie parties), I don't see why we don't just make them all even. ~ Red Hawk One Talk | space for lease 18:33, 5 June 2010 (BST)

Apology
I am sorry for anything said on my talk page, I am an asshole and it somehow ends up on the wiki. I can't blame it on anything other than my lack of respect to others, and myself for the choices I make before I log in. I have made an effort to not allow myself to do any drugs that may alter my personality before logging on. Some of the things I have said on here do sound harsh, and for that I am sorry.--Dirty 10:10, 5 June 2010 (BST)

Welcome to the wiki
Hi Furniture! As we can see, you made your first edits to this wiki not long ago.
4-5 years is "not long ago" now? Hah! Furniture 19:37, 5 June 2010 (BST)
About Welcomenewbie Templates
Just as an FYI, we have a shit-ton of research that shows that greeting new users with templates is worse than personalized messages that insult them when it comes to encouraging new user contribution. Like, it actively causes them to leave.
I'm not sure how much of that research we're allowed to publish (it wasn't done by us at the Wikimedia Foundation, but by some dudes at Carnegie-Mellon and the University of Minnesota), but I'll see if I can't find it for you.--Jorm 02:21, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- Really? I do make sure I don't just add the template and sign it, there's also a message with my talk link and the like in it. If you wanna fire it privately in case it's not cool to publish it there should be an email address for me here. I've been wanting to overhaul the template before anyway, but I was mainly wanting to compress it to look less imposing. Might be worth looking into an alternative. 02:31, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- So, I guess it's not a secret or anything since they published it themselves here.
- It's quite a wall of academic-ese, but they (the authors) flew into SF last week and talked with us (the design team at Wikipedia) about various things we can do to avoid "newbie death." It pretty much boils down to this: the very first interaction a new user has with a wiki's community will drive EVERY. SINGLE. interaction thereafter. If a newbie's first edit gets reverted - especially without a comment on their talk page about it - they're gone. It's a near 100% loss rate. There are a couple other documents out there I can probably swing you if you want.
- We're "not for profit" so all our research goes public eventually but sometimes its time sensitive.--Jorm 03:37, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- See my first talk interaction was having Ross drop WN on me, but then again I was hardly a stranger to web communities or even wikis at that point. Given that it's twenty to four in the morning I'm gonna leave that doc for now, skim it tomorrow, but does it suggest anything in preference to auto-drop templates? I'd toyed with the idea of making a batch of actual greetings as userpages in my namespace and substing them one at a time so as to keep a bit of variance and retain all the relevant links in a welcome. Basically an expanded version of my standard addendum to the template, only with maybe four or five differently worded versions to remove the sense of repetition. 03:44, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- I think every greeting person should have their own personalized message. That'd be cool.-- 03:55, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- Yeah, some people do that, Mis does it and I do when I WN. But most don't. --
- I always add a few lines after the template, but I'm going to whip up a few fuller paragraphs to use in future, incorporating the template's main points in the body of the text. 04:00, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- I had a project that tried to compress the points of WN into a smaller box, but I gave it up. BTW, can you plz arbie my case, you're my first pick. --
- Say pretty please. 04:05, 8 June 2010 (BST)
- Pretty please? And you should sleep more because your new page you just made is all bonked up. -- 04:08, 8 June 2010 (BST)
