The 501st U.S. Army Battalion runs on a specific rank system as follows:
Military
[Rec] Recruit
[SPE] Specialist, Pick one of the following. Combat Engineer, Combat Medic or Main Army
[Pvt] Private
[PFC] Private First Class
[Cpl] Corporal
[Sgt] Sergeant
[SSgt]Staff Sergeant
[Lt] Lieutenant
[Cpt] Captain
[Mjr] Major
Civilian

File:501stC1.png Scavenger, the Recruit class for civilians. This is rank C-1.
File:501stP2.png Police Sergeant, leads squads of five Police Officers. This is rank P-2.
File:501stF2.png Fire Sergeant, leads squads of two Fire Fighters. This is rank F-2.
File:501stC2.png Scavenger First Class, when a civilian ranks up but isn't a police officer or fire fighter. This is rank C-2.
File:501stP3.png Police Commissioner, two of these, East and West. They oversee the East and West sectors of the Police Force. This is rank P-3.
File:501stF3.png Fire Marshal, one of these. Oversees the Fire Fighter legion. This is rank F-3.
File:501stC3.png Scavenging Marshal, a civilian that oversees radio transmitter, generator, and fuel retrieval. This is rank C-3.

File:501stC5.png Officer of the Civilian Sector (OCS) Marshal, there is only one OCS Marshal. It is is the highest rank attainable by a civilian. This is rank C-5.

The insignias are a kind of service record. Here are some abbreviations for different ribbons:
WM = Weapon Mastery (All advanced firearm skills)
HH = Hand to Hand Mastery (All melee skills)
FR = Fitness Skill
SR = Sniper Ribbon (Headshot Skill)
CS = Community Support (Tagging Skill)
RO = Radio Operation Skill
ER = Engineer (Construction Skill)
FM = Field Medic (First Aid and Diagnosis Skills)
SA = Scientific Achievement (Necronet Access Skill)
RSR = Resident Surgeon (Surgery Skill)
AR = Acquisition Ribbon (Bargain Hunting Skill)
RSM = Recon Specialization (Free Running Skill)
PH = Purple Heart (Go beyond your duty and face odds certain in your death. Can only be awarded by a Sergeant)
VR = Valor Ribbon (Accomplish something outside of your duty. Can only be awarded by a Sergeant)
Year = Years of service in the 501st.
Status = Active/Retired/Dead
Remember to delete unused ribbons. If you don't, they will appear on your record anyway.
