501st U.S. Army Battalion

Could you please explain the reasons for your actions on editing 501st U.S. Army Battalion and its related subpages? As it stands, you appear to be vandalizing the pages.

I'm not trying to accuse you of it personally but it would help greatly if you could explain why you've taken such great interest in a page created by another user over 2 years ago. Thanks. ~Vsig.png 19:29, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

It looks like the group was abandoned and left for anyone else to take, according to the group page. MBjarno, here, merely took them up on the offer to assume control of the derelict group. Aichon 19:43, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Indeed it does. Sorry to come off as such a paranoid freak, MBjarno. Still, it's a shame to see so many nice pages deleted so wantonly. ~Vsig.png 19:50, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

It looks like you were having trouble with the Recruitment page. The long and short of it is that all of the actual content of your recruitment ad should go on the 501st U.S. Army Battalion/Recruit page (which doesn't exist yet), and then you'll "include" that content on the Recruitment page by using the following code: {{:501st U.S. Army Battalion/Recruit}}

Once you do that, anything that you had on the 501st U.S. Army Battalion/Recruit page should appear on the Recruitment page. In the meantime, however, your ad did not meet the guidelines for being included on the Recruitment page, and was commented out of the page (i.e. it's still there in the code of the page, but hidden from view of people who see the page normally). There is a recruit ad, Aichon. It's at 501st U.S. Army Battalion/recruit. I'll patch up the recruit Category Ad now that I know there was no malicious intent involved. ~Vsig.png 19:50, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

The reason i have taken over the group is that i am in fact what you can call a legitimate heir to the group as the former leaders disbanded the group and i once was a member, but anyway i was willing to resurect it now and hope it's no problem? and it's your job to be paranoid so no problem ;D

MBjarno

No, its no problem. The wiki is sometimes subject to vandalism and it can be kind of easy to start to assume vandal cases when pages are put up for deletion and deleted and lots of changes are made. Aichon pointed out that the former group leadership basically said anyone can take it over so it's all good. As you were a former member, it makes sense that you'd have interest in revamping the group as well.
As someone posted above, feel free to ask if you run into any snags. Again, sorry to have come off so paranoid at first. ~Vsig.png 20:20, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
It's all fine, and i might ask for help soon since im very green to these wikipages and editing and all the other s**t
MBjarno
Sounds good. One thing that may make your life easier is using the signature button to sign posts. It looks like Sign.png. Use it anywhere where you want to sign an edit to the wiki, like on your recruitment ad or when posting in talk pages. ~Vsig.png 20:57, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

On the subject of help, would you please help me with the advertisement, the simplest way possible, because im very very green when it come to this

MBjarno

Ok what type of help did you need? It looks like Aichon has already cleaned it up for you a little bit. ~Vsig.png 20:57, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Well everything, i don't understand the directions above, I need something like step 1, step 2 if you know what i mean

Mbjarno

Well a couple of us took it upon ourselves to go ahead and fix the links to your recruitment ad. So all you'll really need to do now is to remember to update the timestamp every month or so. Just, click the edit button next to your ad and replace "[[User:MBjarno|MBjarno]] 12:45, 17 December 2010 (UTC)" with "~~~~" (four tildes). This will update the timestamp for your ad and ensure that it won't get taken down for being out of date. ~Vsig.png 22:01, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, you have been a great help and i do the something for something, so tell me if i can help with something Wanna join the 501st ;D

Mbjarno

Any changes you want to make to the ad need to be done at 501st U.S. Army Battalion/recruit. Putting the actual content for your ad on the Recruitment page is not allowed. I've gone ahead and moved the "Join the Researchers, the Civilians or the Military of the 501st" that you put on the Recruitment page to the actual page for the ad. Also, Vapor's suggestion above on using the signature button is a very good one. Aichon 22:39, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
