Description

St. Matthew's Hospital is located in the suburb of Pegton, which is in the Eastern Central area of Malton.

History

The Pargiter Ward.

The red brick Institution for Women Of Moral Deviance (unmarried mothers) that formerly stood here was replaced by Noakes Sanatorium (a hospice for the terminally ill), founded by proto-feminist philanthropist Constance Pargiter in 1872. After years of falling patient numbers and diminishing donations, the Noakes was demolished and replaced with a modern general hospital.

Opened in 1999, St. Matthew's was the last hospital to join Pegton's Healing Plaza, named for the abundance of hospitals in the area. St. Matthew's was promoted to be a forerunner in the area, being a complete children's hospital and being fully prepared to be a Level One Trauma Center, taking cases from all local areas. The mayor of Malton declared the hospital to be one of the finest institutions in the city.

In 2001, the hospital opened a free clinic, providing care to anyone who needed it, using various donations to help pay for the care. In the fall of 2004, the head of the hospital stepped down amidst allegations of using some of the less fortunate patients in the clinic as test subjects in various unsanctioned medical trials. The hospital was unable to get anyone to step up for the position, so the remaining physicians created a board to run the day to day operations of the hospital.

In 2005 the hospital received its first zombie-related case. Physicians at the hospital were stumped and tried desperately to cure the infected. Cases went through the roof. The outbreak created a serious problem for the hospital, which lost most of its resources in the first few days, not being prepared for a disaster of this magnitude. They called for assistance from surrounding hospitals, but no one would respond. The hospital fell quickly and became another abandoned place of healing. The implementation of the Uniform Barricading Policy returned the hospital to status as a place of healing, but without much staffing. Insert non-formatted text here

Barricade Policy

Entry Point. Keep at VSB++!

THIS BUILDING IS CURRENTLY IN VIOLATION OF THE POLICY!!!

Not any more, it isn't, unless you count no barricades as "in violation of the policy".
