The counter is a mess, the sink has blood in it. Somebody has written keep your face front, do not look behind onto the mirror with marker. You look around. The sink is covered in blood, the redness washed poorly with water, so that dilution makes the tragedy look more like a clumsy water painting. Lined around the edges of the sink are three placed toothbrushes, the bristles drenched in blood.
