Description

Club Dowell appears to have once been an exclusive nightclub in the suburb of Dulston on the border with Rhodenbank. In the late 70s the original Club Dowell sold its property in Rolt Heights, which later became Club Knyps, so the owners could open a new private members club. It was not long before the nightclub became known as the most decadent after-hours nightclub in northeast Malton, with glass-walled unisex bathrooms featuring two-way mirrors, a private and exclusive party space on the third floor, and various nooks and crannies where mischievous customers could have their fun.

The nightclub thrived through the 80s being on the cutting edge of fashion and music: styles came and went and Club Dowell's very diverse staff and sophisticated clientele rolled with the punches. This period was marked by such legendary talent as Coco, Dozia, Nick London, Toni Thomas, and uber Philly It-Girl.

Founder, Garrick Logann passed away in 1991 under suspicious circumstances and shortly afterwards Club Dowell suffered from a devastating fire that burnt it to the ground. The dedicated staff worked day and night demolishing and rebuilding the nightclub. All the while, loyal patrons held vigils out on its sidewalks to remember the good times they had all shared inside. When the nightclub was finally rebuilt in 1995 new club patrons considered it to be "better than ever", but older patrons felt that the fire had destroyed what had once made the nightclub special, something the reconstruction could not restore. From that point onwards Club Dowell witnessed a slow decline in popularity. The new manager, Phillip Jagger, insisted the fire was in fact arson carried out by Russian Immigrants from Ruddlebank when he had refused to sell them the nightclub. Police investigators, along with the Malton Fire Department, were able to determine that accelerants were used in spreading the fire, but the investigation could not find any facts which supported Phillip Jagger's claims of crime family involvment. The investigation was on-going until the "Malton Incident" ended it abruptly.

The survivor group, Viva La Humanity, was the last group to hold this building as their own, but has since released their claim. Adding that anyone who wants to take up the cause of protecting humanity is more than welcome to use the nightclub as their own base. All Viva La Humanity asked in return is that Club Dowell be kept secure and in working order.

Barricade Policy

Barricades should be kept at Extremely Heavily at all times. The true purpose of this building is to serve as a heavily fortified shelter for Malton's veteran survivors. This ruling was set forth by the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram and is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance.

In the past this building served as the headquarters for the survivor group Viva La Humanity, and thus was heavily fortified to shelter their members from any zombie onslaught. After Viva La Humanity departed the building's barricade policy remained at this level because the nightclub is now used as a secure sleep location in case zombie hordes overrun nearby resource locations. Survival rule #1, never sleep in buildings under siege, well, unless it's a mall siege.

Current Events

May 31st, 2016: The building no longer serves as the proper home for veteran survivors it should be. Now VSB, with a generator running. As of this moment, it's open to anyone.
