External Military Reports

See my comment, maybe format them, and reply to my talk page, Thanks. --Dr Cory Bjornson 20:41, 18 April 2008 (BST)

Uh, Is it you or Kevyn that's messing with the Time stamps? --Dr Cory Bjornson 01:12, 1 May 2008 (BST)
All I've been doing with the time stamps is trying to make sure they follow a standard format. If that's not what you mean, then I'm not involved. --Nell Faircliff 01:13, 1 May 2008 (BST)

NT Status Updates

Hello there. I noticed that you like to update the NTStatus for several suburbs. However, I'd like to ask if you're actually verifying the status of those NT Buildings in the game with your accounts. For example, you recently put in a Ransacked status for the Rothwell Building in Penny Heights and for the Axtence Building in Osmondville. Were you actually there to see for yourself whether or not they were, in fact, ransacked?

If not, then you really shouldn't report them as Ransacked. That's just hearsay if you haven't verified their status. At the very least, you should have a pic of the view screen that someone else had taken of the building. If you don't have verification, just post Unknown. --The Masked Lurker 15:54, 24 April 2008 (BST)

I periodically synch the NT Status Map to the BIC information for each suburb, since most people update one and not the other, and I follow the ten-day guideline provided on the NT Map page itself. My information is, of course, limited to what people report; if it's inaccurate, please, correct it. --Nell Faircliff 19:03, 24 April 2008 (BST)
- If you based it on the BIC for the suburb, then why did you put Ransacked for Rothwell NT a day or so ago? It was still Under Siege according to the DangerReport that was up there (it was one I personally filed). There was no report of it being in ruins at that time. That occured several days earlier. That's what prompted me to ask in the first place. Did you actually see Rothwell in ruins when you posted that info? If not, please report Unknown when following the 10-day guideline, just like the guideline says. As for Osmondville, I haven't personally verified the status of Axtence NT, but according the Recent News for the suburb, it is up and running. --The Masked Lurker 04:09, 25 April 2008 (BST)
After having looked at the description again, the Rothwell issue was most likely an error on my part, for which I apologize, and thank you for correcting it for me. As for Axtence, the BIC states it as having been ransacked as of eight days ago. Since, as I said, all I am doing is synching these two sources, I followed the guidelines given (although I'm of the opinion that given the pace of the game, ten days is entirely too long, that's besides the point of the present argument).
Since the issue here seems to be with the synching process itself, my problem is this: My alternatives to the current process are to either leave the map as it had been, which means that it will become even more inaccurate due to lack of updating; comb through every possible information source on the wiki, including Recent News for each suburb, External Military Reports, and so on, making an already tedious and time-consuming process even worse; or start pushing for people to either fully update each relevant information source on the wiki when they post some sort of news/update/whatever, which would become tedious for them even if it caught on. I hope you can at least see where I'm coming from with this, and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to tell me.
I apologize for the trouble. --Nell Faircliff 04:27, 25 April 2008 (BST)
- I did have a suggestion. Just stick with Unknown for the most part. Like the guidelines state. I have no problem with your updating the NT Status map. It's when you posted information that was speculative and incorrect that bothered me. If you are going to update the entries every 10 days or so, just post Unknown for NT Buidings with DangerReports more than a week old. You can't be faulted for doing that. --The Masked Lurker 18:59, 25 April 2008 (BST)
