PLEB?

Removed the following from the pre-amble:

It is currently occupied by a group known as the People's Liberation of East Becktown, who have been trying to regulate barricades, and defend the area from zombie incursions.

PLEB isn't currently regulating barricades as they are all wide open. Question if PLEB is active? Their wiki hasn't been updated since Dec. '07. --ZaqWer 18:09, 22 July 2008 (BST)

Barricade Plan

Are you aware that your barricade plan is a kind of Berlin Wall for anyone coming in from the west? Look at it, you have a SOLID WALL of EHB on the west side, that is DEADLY. I recently tried to make a dash into E Becktown on lowish AP admittedly... and had to go all the back where I came from because of this "Becktown Wall." This will certainly hurt not just newbs, but anyone needing to find an entry point to a safehouse -- especially if they happen to be low on AP... say their buildings got swarmed??

Put a couple entry points somewhere in that sea of EBH... Club Bragge would be great, nice and central, but maybe too out of the way at the very end of the wing, so too hard to enforce. So how about the factory or Rideout Museum? And in the North Wing, add an EP, say at the warehouse 22,32...

Seriously... you barricade policy is unsafe. Just 2 VSB -- heck even only 1 -- entry points would fix it. I hope someone notices this and fixes it. Thanks. --WanYao 13:57, 9 August 2007 (BST)

Colours

Changed Richmond Hills to a pink colour - thats ffcccc - for reference. For
several days now there have been zombies leaking in over the eastern border and
now apparently the Red-eye Republic have set up shop there. Not sure how
serious the situation is... but perhaps worth an alert.

Not to say that I doubt that these suburbs could be dangerous, but I don't think it's neccesary to note that on the map. I think that the suburb colorization in the mapbox should probably be limited to dangerous activity that will most likely be prolonged; something that should deter someone from traveling or staying there. Not that I think you're not trying to be helpful, it just seems that these are too difficult to verify, and become quickly outdated; zombie hordes are almost always on the move. If you really want to show this information on the page, at least mention it in the text, with a timestamp. So that it can be easily checked for viability, and removed when outdated. --Raelin 22:07, 24 Oct 2005 (BST)

PLEB are currently working on the assumption that if we are updating and checking the page on a daily basis, and actively gathering reports about our neighbouring suburbs, particularly those with significant recent zombie activity (Darvall Heights, Eastonwood, Richmond Hills, and Haverton), then colorisation is fine.

The current (--05:06, 1 Nov 2005 (GMT)) status of the map boxes (and in order of percieved threat severity) is as follows:

  • Darvall Heights - currently overrun by a zombie horde (CotR).
  • Eastonwood - CotR have now moved into western Darvall Heights, however, unaligned zombie activity has yet to die down. We expect to be able to change the colour to normal, soon.
  • Haverton - The horde has apparently started to head away from Haverton, so this should drop soon.
  • Richmond Hills - currently occupied by a new zombie group who have made the suburb significantly more dangerous than it was. Will be downgraded if their activity level drops.
  • East Becktown - Although we've seen a surge of activity since the CotR turned up, only the imminent threat of invasion warrants the current colour.

The only one of these reports that might be considered a prolonged threat, is Richmond Hills due to the Red Eye Republic setting up shop there, but merely marking this suburb would give a dangerously incorrect impression about local zombie activity.

If anyone thinks differently, then edit this page, and add your thoughts! The above is merely what we are currently doing, and we are amenable to change. :)

Ars Requiem respectfully submits that the East Becktown History section is little more than PLEB propaganda and has only a partial basis in fact. As a zombie group of over 70 members operating in East Becktown since November 2005, we feel we have some perspective on the area. That it differs from the PLEB party line does not thereby invalidate it. --John Ember 15:39, 2 Feb 2006 (GMT)

PLEB respectfully suggests that Ars Requiem should feel free to add some items of historical fact, if they believe that the record is incomplete. However, none of the current items appear inaccurate or propagandising. If there are any specific criticisms, please detail them, and we'll be very happy to make amendments. --Han 14:29, 3 Feb 2006 (GMT)

As there's been no further input on the NPOV issue for two weeks, I'm removing the dispute label. If anyone would like to restore it and re-start the discussion with some specific points, please do so! --Han 12:07, 17 Feb 2006 (GMT)
