The paint on the cement floor breaks up as you step over it. You further examine the garbage bags. Your fingers fumble with the twist-ties, opening the bag wide. A severed arm slips out. There is no decomposition, no rigour, it's still alive, limp though and detached from body nonetheless - an impossibility. Incredulous, and fully horrified, you try to nudge the arm back into the garbage bag. It twitches. And then, something pulls your mind in, at great discomfort, and it is as if to push you in a deliberately cramped recess, and into that unknown is permitted another mind, though it is only a mind as it once was. Not truly, as it is now, but for the mind, the now is no more. A dead soul, with a remnant shaved off from its shadow cast by no light. It's a flashback. You're going into someone's flashback.
