Description
The Ablett Arms is considered by most survivors to be the best pub in the entire suburb of Rhodenbank, and to some, perhaps all of Malton. Although there are more than a few survivor groups that would argue that claim. In the days before the "Malton Incident" the pub was well known for its drinking and dart competitions. With no small amount of common sense both competitions were never held on the same night. After the outbreak survivors gathered at the pub and started treating it as a social gathering spot. After all, it's a proven fact that killing zombies is thirsty work so survivors were always welcome and stop in after some zombie whupass for a tall cold one.
On February 20th 2006, the survivor group known as the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps (RCDC) met together for the first time at the Ablett Arms and decided that forming a zombie killing team wouldn't be such a bad idea. Ever since they have viewed the Ablett Arms with a certain amount of pride, and while they are above calling it something as simple as their group headquarters, they do consider the pub to be their home away from home. At the very least it's where survivors can usually find more than a few members of the RCDC relaxing after a hard day's work hunting zombies.
Barricade Policy
This building is a part of the Rhodenbank Highway, a series of buildings that are always Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded so that inexperienced survivors without the Free Running skill will still be able to find a series of adjacent safehouses that they can enter while traveling through the suburb. This is in accordance with the suburb barricade plan enforced by the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps. Doubly so, when one factors in that the Ablett Arms serves as the traditional headquarters of the RCDC.
If the building is ever under attack from five or more zombies only then are survivors granted permission to barricade beyond Very Strongly, but only until the threat has passed. Survivors are warned that all members of the RCDC who find the barricades raised higher than Very Strongly have the right to lower them if there is no immediate threat to the building at that time.
Survivors are always reminded there is no reason for over-barricading to keep other survivor out because there's more than enough beer for everyone. Unless it's to keep beer out of the hands of out zombies. Damn zombies... get your own beer!

Current Events
November 22nd 2011- Popped by Rhodenbank to complete some scans for Necrowatch. Saw that there's quite a few zombies about and all that running makes you thirsty, but then they tell me the special brew is for members only! Imagine my disappointment! -- Ghita 21:56, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
November 23rd 2010- Been bouncing around the 'burb for about a week now, more Zeds than I expected. Not the safe haven it once was but resistance is strong. Chances are, we're in for a long bloody winter.
November 5th, 2009 - Stopped by after getting a revive nearby. VSB++ with power on and radio transmitter present. 6 survivors inside all in good health. Shout out to Search The Gun Store for healing the recently revived me up to full health. --OO Willie 04:58, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
September 18th, 2009 - [oO Willie] Just stopped by the pub and looks like a good safehouse for survivors. Barricades are up with no zombies hanging around outside. I am off to St Marks to scrounge for FAKs.
May 16th, 2009 We're hard at work keeping the zombies out of the beer kegs. Watch out for the barricade and maybe some zombie traps.
August 3rd, 2007 - The Leighton Kru burst in and took down 19 RCDC members sheltering here. And all because the beer was warm...
July 23rd, 2007 - Yahoomas have taken down the barricades and allowed for zombie movement into the building. The building is Lightly Barricaded with 1 zombie inside.
June 9th, 2007 - The beloved Ablett Arms is under attck by an unknown zombie force. Unfortunately for the survivors the generator was destroyed as well as the barricades.
May 30th, 2007 - It's Bane Croow's 1-year anniversary today! If for some reason you can't make it to the party here today, tomorrow at 6:00 Eastern time, I, Joe Morris, am holding an OFFICAL ANNIVERSARY GET TOGERTHER at Club Greene, just southwest of the Ablett Arms. Bring booze, babes, and bullets.
April 18, 2007 - Doors were wide open upon my arrival. Closed the doors, but can't barricade. Lots of survivors inside, dumped a dead body outside. Graffiti inside has been replaced with "a well drawn pic of RCDC licking ass pain's behind," probably the work of ass pain 2, a survivor currently inside.
April 12th, 2007 - The Ablett Arms is under attack by an unknown amount of zombies. At the moment at least one has managed to break into the pub.
Sepetember 5th, 2006 - The Big Bash has rolled into the suburb and zombies from this massive horde have sieged this building and breached its defneses on at least one occasion. Survivors are asked to stand strong and continue to defy the undead by keeping the barricades up.
February 20th, 2006 - The Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps (RCDC) unites with a common cause, to protect the survivors of Rhodenbank and the Ablett Arms from the zombie scourge.
