No Man's Land (Borehamwood)
The No Man's Land is a unique map feature of Borehamwood resulting from the impenetrable nature of Borehamwood's river. Borehamwood's river creates a line of deep river squares which cannot be entered by any character extending from both the north and south. There is a small passable area toward middle of the river, allowing access to the bulk of the region of Countryside (East). This area consists entirely of fields as well as one of Borehamwood's two farmhouses. The closest building on the "civilized" side of the river is The Lock Inn (located at [586,47].) From this point one can walk 24 spaces to the north before having to turn around to be able to re-enter The Lock Inn. This imaginary safety threshold is indicated by the yellow line at the latitude 23.) Similarly, on can walk 24 spaces to the south before having to turn back to safely re-enter The Lock Inn. This creates an imaginary safety line at latitude 71. Thus, everything east of the river and either north of 23 or south of 71 will leave one stranded in open land.
