The Family Purr:
A proud middle class family of Malton.
The Purr family are an example of the everday, average unit. Growing up in West Becktown under the firm and of course loving appraisal of their mother and father, the three boys followed what seemed the natural progression of their lives from school to employment. The biggest shock to their mother and father was their third son, Sworn, who sustained horrid face scarring. But the love didn't stop flowing and his older brothers embraced the dark young boy into thier fraternal way of life.
Rip Purr
Rip grew up wanting to be a fire fighter. He joined the junior volunteers when he was old enough, aged 16. He stayed in training until offered an official paid position after graduating from high school. Spending an equal amount of time training his body and mind, he's developed a powerful, well muscled body to go with his well oiled mind. No brother of the Purr family swings an axe with greater strength. When the breakout occured, Rip was with his brigade treating a standard warehouse fire when he was seperated from his group. A raggedly dressed man, he's discarded his firefighting uniform and donned lighter gear to get around better. What looks smoother on a survivor than a black top, jeans and bandanas knotted around his elbows and knees? He still wears his fireman helmet, and wields his fire axe with bloody accuracy.
Dog "Soldier" Purr
Following in his older brother's foot steps, but wanting to retain a touch of individuality, Dog joined the Corps after high school, where he trained for years as a grunt in Fort Creedy, Peppardville. His superior officers noted that though his dedication was highly impressive, his slight build made it difficult for him to advance up the ranks of the military. But Dog's sharp mind prevailed and when a small, mostly unnoticed opening for training in recon analysis classes opened up, he took it. DogSoldier's small build was ideal for an infiltration and spying role in the military, and finally Dog found himself advancing through the scout ranks. As the years have passed the strain of constantly looking over his shoulder has taken its toll. Dog has developed dark circles under his eyes and a nervous disposition, but don't let that fool you, his expertise in martial art and ability to sneak around behind you is a true combat winner.
"Sworn2Justice" Purr
The dark horse of the Purr family, Sworn had the misfortune of being born physically disfigured. While being the tallest of the brothers, with a strong and imposing figure, Sworn's face is horribly mutated. He stayed in high school only long enough to last 1 year as the target of the students' endless physical and mental torture. Though his boys would always protect and support their not-so-little brother, even they could not overcome the sheer ferocity and volume of Sworn's bullies. But Sworn would not surrender his education to the bigotry of the world. He home schooled, focussing his silent determination on joining the Malton Police Department. He saw the respect citizens treated the boys in blue, and even though he knew he may never be fully accepted, as least as an officer of the peace he'd feel secure in the role of protector and enforcer. The amount of time spent studying and working out meant none of the Purr family were surprised when their youngest passed the Police exam with flying colours and jumped to Detective of the MPD in only a year. When the infection broke out in Malton, Sworn joined his brothers in patrolling the streets. Never leaving his blue uniform, he feels more at home than ever among the grotesque monsters, taking out all his pent up aggression on the zombie hordes.
After Z-Day
The first of the Purr brothers to go missing was Rip. Out fighting a fire at a warehouse, he became disoriented by the chaos which led him to exit out the opposite end of the building. With the fire under control and the roar of the flames silenced, Rip could hear faint screams of torment and fear. As he made to circle the building and rejoin his troupe, the hulking figure of a fat woman with tremendous rents of flesh tore from her pudgy bulk stopped Rip in his tracks. The slim alleyway he'd wound up in was constructed in a way that left enough room really for the two of them. Not sure what to make of this fleshy horror, Rip backed away a few steps. The beastial woman took this as a sign of weakness and immediately plunged forward, arms outstretched, hunger, as in life, ever present in her dead eyes of unlife.
Instinctively, Rip lifted his axe in front of him as some sort of paltry defence. The fat woman clasped her strong hands around Rip's shoulders. Easily mvoing her jaws around the inert axe,s he sunk her rotted teeth into Rip's forehead. The fireman blacked out.
