This template has been based off the templates Radio2 and Radio Frequency The Intention of this template is not to replace these(or other) templates but provide a working template for those wanting to list a callsign and hailing frequency who don't belong to a specific group(or belong to one without a frequency).

Hailing Frequencies are discussed a bit in the archived talk pages of the main Radio page but to summarize, a hailing frequency is a (typically open) frequency used for establishing communications and determining a shared frequency to broadcast on. As was also mentioned in the aforemention talk pages such real time conversations would be highly unlikely so the more likely use of a hailing frequency would be two-fold firstly to provide verification that the person is still playing and still using that station/callsign and second once verifying the person is available switching to another station and/or switching to a coded form of communication. Since only other knowing the code for this communication method it becomes an effective tool for groups or multiple groups of survivors to communicate without fear of "zombie spys" or PKer Intercepts. Cutting myself off here before this become another discussion about the effective/proper use of radio broadcasts. - Sephikus
