2 January 2008

I feel like I'm alone here. Haven't heard a friendly voice in weeks. I'm stranded in Shearbank, God only knows for how long. Not many Zeds up this way, Guess that's a good thing. There's just some things they can't prepare you for in basic, this happens to be one of them. Planning on looking for refuge tonight. Saw a police station earlier, looks like I can make it over the barricades. Hopefully this wont be my last night.

3 January 2008

Survived the night. Survived. That word has a whole new meaning now. I don't know if I should be happy that I'm alive, or sorry for the poor saps that aren't. One thing's for sure, I ain't straying far without some weapons and there ain't many around here.

4 January 2008

Found a crowbar late yesterday, and a pipe not long after that. This morning I found a spare clip, that'll be handy. Planning on making a trip to the hospital later to look for meds. Damn this cold. Ran across a Zed earlier, popped him a few times before I moved on. Lucky bastard. I bet he didn't feel anything.

5 January 2008

The weather's getting colder, winter's really starting to set in now. Searched around a bit today, no luck finding anything useful aside from a shotgun shell. Too bad I don't have a shotgun. My radio's been broadcasting some guy that's gone looney all day. That's the kind of thing that makes you want to turn your pistol on yourself. But, that's not what they tought me in basic now is it? Kill the enemy, not yourself. Enemy? I don't know who the enemy is anymore. Some of the survivors have turned into Zed sympathizers, and some of the Zeds have turned into survivor sympathizers. What the hell is the world coming to? At least I met up with one friendly today. My old buddy from basic, Keilor Penfold. We go back a ways. But, no time for memories. I might end up one if I dwell on them. I'm gonna shack up at Borrer's tonight. Planning on moving out of this hell hole tomorrow.

6 January 2008

Not much on events today. A few zeds passed by the Borrer PD. Heard over the transmitter that a horde was heading this way. Planning on staying at least one more night here. Told Keilor it might be best if we split up. He's over at the mall a few blocks over. Damned fool loves to shop. Hope he makes it. Might be able to talk some survivors into going over and taking some of the horde out. Right now though, I'm planning on sleeping.

7 January 2008

What a day. Didn't think I was gonna make it there for a while. Upham Auto got broken into, that cuts off gas supplies to the southwest corner of Shearbank, not good. I headed over to Josaphat General to keep an eye on the situation, next thing I know there's a group of zeds breaking down the 'cades. I shot at a few before I started running low on ammo, decided to head back to Borrer PD before I got over taken. Those bastards got ten of those camped out inside before I left. I heard on my hand held later that Josaphat was finally secured. Glad to hear it. There's a small horde rumored out of Brooke Hills that's trying to take the southwest portion of the city. Looks like I'm gonna be in the middle of it. Time to stock up on ammo. I know my drill instructor used to say there aren't any heroes around since John Wayne died and Stephen Seagal got fat, but I think it's time for an new guy.

I'm moving tomorrow. Look out Zeds, my name is Doom.

8 January 2008

Moved over to the Turner Building this morning to monitor Josaphat Hospital. Damn zeds took it, and killed everyone inside. The barricades are back up, but there's still a few zeds there and I'm out of ammo. Have to head back to Borrer, heard someone shot up the generator, lights and the transmitter. Damn, what's wrong with these people?

9 January 2008

Decided to stay at Borrer and stock up on supplies. Zed attacks are being reported on the transmitter from everywhere. That guy that went nuts the other got back on the radio this afternoon, I'm gonna find him and put him out of his misery. So far today, I've found a flak jaket, couple flare guns and two spare pistols. Now if I could just find the ammo.

I got message on my phone from Keilor, he's gonna camp out here for the night. If all goes well, I'm heading north sometime over the next day or so. There aren't many safehouses left in the southwest, and from the look of things the zeds are moving into the northwest corner of the city. If we're to hold the city we gotta make a stand.

10 January 2008

Left out of Borrer today and decided to head south into Roachtown. Foolish idead seeing as I was short on ammo, but there were survivors trapped in buildings to the south. Roachtown's got a fitting name, cause roaches are about the only things that can survive there. I had a hard time finding shelter, but eventually found a hospital to shack up in. I was hoping to make it back to Borrer tonight, but it's too dangerous right now. Looks like I'm stuck here for the night.

11 January 2008

Decided to do some more zed searching today. Took out a few before I ran out of ammo and had to withdraw. I had just enough time to make it back to Borrer before it got too late. Keillor was there. I got the third degree for leaving. What can I say? Can't win back the city sitting still. I'm not moving again until I have enough ammo to outfit the army.

12 January 2008

Not much in the way of events today. Keilor out and about doing something. Shearbank has calmed down since the run on Josaphat. Pretty quite around these parts. I've spent the day gathering up ammo and what not. Found a shotgun, that's just lovely. Nothing says lovin' like a spray pattern to the face. Planning on painting the town red if you know what I mean. I'll end up staying at Borrer tonight, but I'll most likely head back to Roachtown tomorrow. The zeds are really starting to piss me off. I say it's time for Doom's day.

13 January 2008

I stayed put for the day, at least for a little while. I saw some guys that were jumping from building to building. I decided to get bold, I jumped. Pretty easy after the first few times. I moved over to the mall. Shopping is always fun. Especially when everything's on sale. Found another shotgun and a hockey stick. There was a generator just lying on the ground, so I grabbed it too. Found a pair of binocs a little while ago, those will come in handy. Changed duds too. I'll be here a while, going to the hospital to pick up some meds tomorrow, but it's safer to stay here at night.

16 January 2008

Not much has happened over the past few days as you can tell. I've been gathering supplies, listening to the reports on the radios. Not much by way of events. I hear Pitneybank is under seige, doesn't surprise me. I might head down that way sometime, gotta some more things to get while I'm here though.

I remember something I read in my grandfather's old Civil War diary. He said the guys use to sing a song at night that really summed up everything. I think it was something like, "Many are the hearts that are weary tonight, wishing for the war to cease. Many are the hearts that are looking for the right to see the dawn of peace." How true it is.
