The magnitude of The No Man's Land is seen when highlighted (in red) on the city's map.

The No Man's Land is an abstract map feature of Borehamwood impacting survivors there. The No Man's Land results from the impenetrable nature of Borehamwood's river. Borehamwood's river creates a line extending north to south of deep river squares which cannot be crossed. There is a small passable area toward middle of the river, allowing access to the region of Countryside (East). This area consists entirely of fields as well as one of Borehamwood's two farmhouses. The closest building on the "civilized" side of the river is The Lock Inn (located at [586,47].) From this point a survivor can walk 24 spaces to the north before having to turn around to be able to re-enter The Lock Inn without running out of AP in open land. This imaginary safety threshold is indicated by the yellow line at the latitude 23. Similarly, on can walk 24 spaces to the south before having to turn back to safely re-enter The Lock Inn. This creates an imaginary safety line at latitude 71. Thus, everything east of the river and either north of 23 or south of 71 (which will leave one stranded in open land) is considered No Man's Land.
