[edit] Adding the category to a template

Add the category to the template front page. Use <noinclude> and </noinclude> to add the category and usage commentaries.

It is probably beneficial to use the above, instead of the previously recommended [[Category:Templates|{{Subst:PAGENAME}}]]. If the wiki were much larger, the additional server load caused by the {{PAGENAME}} magic word would be unbearable. Due to this wiki's small size the increase in server load should be negligible.

Templates should be added to pages by the

{{template name}}

method. If you are posting the actual code on your page then please remove <noinclude>[[Category:Templates|{{PAGENAME}}]]</noinclude>. Leaving this code will put your page in the template category. It is only used when creating templates not when using them.
