History

Built in 1920 Rufflem Radios, was a small factory producing Bakelite radios for local consumption. During the war the War Office took over running of the factory when the owner, (J. Rufflem), joined the Royal Navy.

He was killed in '43 onboard a destroyer when a Stuka attacked a convoy headed to Malta.

The factory was closed down on July 23rd 1947 and demolished roughly 50 years later.
