Introduction to the OBR

Introduction to the OBR

The Order of the Black Rose is a pro-survivor group that understands that some suburbs are harder to keep safe than others. Typically this is because of active and organized zombie groups in the area. But in the southwest corner of Malton, in District 2, zombies are only the beginning of the problem.

Why? Because in all five of the suburbs that make up SW District 2, there is only one NecroTech building. That's right, only one. Naturally, this poses some unique obstacles for survivor groups operating in Crooketon, Grigg Heights, Lerwill Heights, Mornington, and Reganbank.

The OBR bases itself out of not one, but all five of the above suburbs. They recognize that they are in a dangerous part of Malton, and that communication and teamwork are key.

Most often you can find members of the OBR rebuilding the various suburbs or working to maintain the local MalTel locations. We're also partial to spending time drinking in the pubs, looking at fine art in the museums, or getting in some much needed reading at the local libraries.

Generally speaking, the Order of the Black Rose tries to strike that careful balance between being serious about our duties and having fun while we're doing it.

Group Goals & Objectives

Group Goals & Objectives

The Order of the Black Rose is a mobile group, but generally this is relegated to being mobile within the five suburbs of SW-2 (known to members as the Rose District). Regardless of where our members are, our objectives remain the same: Rebuild, Reinforce, Revive, and Maintain.

  • Rebuild
Many survivor groups (and independent survivors) tend to avoid the Rose District because of the lack of NecroTech buildings, or in some cases lack of other tactical resource buildings. This inevitably leads to a smaller local population to rebuild after large hordes come through. As such, rebuilding is the most common task for members of the OBR.
Naturally, this also means that most members should carry a toolbox and have the Construction skill. As our organization grows, this won't be as important that every member have these.
  • Reinforce
The Order of the Black Rose lives in a pretty rough part of town, and above all we know the value of allies. We will readily go to the aid of our allies, just as we would expect them to come to our aid if we were in dire straits.
The only exception to this is in cases where there are extremely few OBR members not suffering from a case of DEATH. In such cases, individual members may opt to defend an OBR safehouse and work to promote the group and revive members. Since these situations should be exceedingly rare, members should expect to aid our allies, even if that aid is relegated to FAKing and reviving.
  • Revive
Just because staying alive in the Rose District is rough doesn't mean that it should be. The Order of the Black Rose will do its best to maintain revive points in each of the five suburbs in our jurisdiction.</fomt>
NOTE: At this time, the Order of the Black Rose is not maintaining any unique revive points due to insufficient members. Those seeking revives are encouraged to wait at local cemeteries and contact the OBR for a revive.
  • Maintain
The Order of the Black Rose does its best to maintain barricade levels at agreed upon levels, but let's face it... we're just one group. We also work to keep as many TRPs powered (or at least not ruined) as possible. In order of priority...
  1. NecroTech Building - there is only 1, so naturally this is a major priority
  2. Hospitals
  3. Police Departments
Priority is also given to keeping mobile mast buildings and OBR safehouses powered and fueled for mobile phone coverage and radio broadcasting. Communication (both in-game and meta-gaming) are huge tools that many survivors are either unable to use due to lack of power or choose not to use. By keeping these options available, we can only benefit the survivor effort.
To help with maintaining various buildings, the Order of the Black Rose also maintains a Building Watch List to keep locals and fellow members updated on the status of important buildings in the Rose District.

Group Rules & Regulations

  • No Zerging
Zerging means using 2 or more alts to perform any task, which includes fighting the same group, and using/sharing ANY information with one alt gathered by another. Alts must lead separate lives. Failure to do so will force the OBR to bring a horribly swift case of DEATH down upon you, as well as call in a Protoss airstrike to fry your no-good zerg arse.
  • Only 1 character per person is allowed to be in the Order of the Black Rose
Using more than one character in the same group not only borderlines alt abuse, it is considered a cheap tactic. So don't be lame; show a little pride and only have one character in the OBR.
There is almost no time in which destroying a generator in a tactical resource building is beneficial to the survivor side. As for non TRP's, it can be useful at times to sleep in a darkened building, and is allowed, provided the action does not harm/hamper other survivors.
PKing is only allowable under circumstances where an OBR member has been killed. Never kill a fellow group member, or ally. If there is a problem, bring it to the attention of the group, and we'll first seek a diplomatic solution to the problem.
  • No Spying
Joining a group/forum to gain undisclosed knowledge under false pretenses is strictly forbidden. Spying is underhanded, dirty, and not in the spirit of this group. Information in the public domain is acceptable, as is any information they disclose to you, provided they know full well in advance that you will share the information with the Order of the Black Rose.
  • Conduct must remain civil
While playful banter with enemies is encouraged, remember that this is a game. Our enemies are here to have a good time just as much as we are. Be sportsmanlike in your actions. Keep the language at PG-13 and below in game, and on public forums.
  • Have Fun
As said earlier, we at the Order of the Black Rose take our jobs seriously, but we want you to have fun doing it. Don't be afraid to spend those AP to talk and have a good time.

The punishment for infractions vary from verbal warning, to expulsion from the group, based on frequency and severity of the infraction.

The Order of the Black Rose is an equal rights group. Every member has a voice and is encouraged to provide opinions and comments on group operations and activities, provided they do not go against these rules.

OBR Radio Frequency

OBR Radio Frequency

know what you are talking about Short-wave Radio Info
This group or location has a dedicated radio frequency.

Frequency: 26.12 MHz
Transmitter Coordinates: OBR Safehouses

The Order of the Black Rose does not have or utilize a radio frequency reserved for its use alone. Because of the nature of our operations it does not make sense to do so. Instead, all OBR broadcasts will be on radio frequency 26.12--this is the district radio frequency for SW-2.

Broadcasts on this frequency should pertain to activities within the district that are public knowledge or should be public knowledge (status of the NT and various other TRPs, horde movements, etc.). Any information that falls outside this realm or require a degree of security should be left to the Order of the Black Rose forum, located at Beerhah.com.
