Reuters (MALTON)-- Early this morning Chidley Row Fire Station was over-run by infected citizens, ending a nearly week-long siege in a once peaceful suburb.  This comes as a blow to rescue efforts, adding one more block to the ever-widening quarantine zone on the West end of the city.  On two occasions gunfire erupted, and military personnel were reportedly seen at the station the prior night, perhaps attempting to evacuate survivors or manage the ensuing violence.  One casualty was reported and at least two are missing of the few survivors that remained yesterday.  At that time, the generator began sputtering and there were concerns it would run out of fuel before morning.  More than anything, this tragedy highlights the stress the Emergency Management teams have endured during this crisis, as no further National Guard or city emergency workers were seen at press time and no less than seven infected victims were sighted milling about the station.  (15 aug 2007)

A.P. (MALTON)-- Attacks have been on the rise the last two nights, with barricades being rebuild daily.  There are many inexperienced civilians inside, and the smell of fresh injuries seems to be drawing more and more of the infected. Local volunteer fire chief Captain D has ordered evacuation to Judge Road Police department in nearby North Blytheville.  Although flares have been fired, the fire station's radio equipment has been looted--save for one receive-only unit--so rescue efforts are unlikely.   Captain D has asked refugees to pass along word of the need for supplies, those skilled in barricade construction, and a portable transmitter to restore contact with the city's Emergency Services. Once a fine and respected Fire station holding an exemplatory record for safty and civil protection. Due to its high status Chidley Row was heavily targeted by the mobs of roaming zombies and soon fell into disrepair after being overun and was later abandoned by its former crew. It has since remaind empty and out of active service from the early days of the present outbreak.


Over this period the building has been missused as a hiding place for errent Zombies and PK'ers alike. The building has been through periods of being re-barricaded but due to the lack of any real support crew on hand at the station, it soon re-fell to the attackers and was ruined soon afterwards . It has remained a general no go area for the good citizens of Malton for a long period of time and its vacant status has left the local area in a state of turmoil due to the lack of Fire & Civil safty support.

After this long period of neglect, abandonment and missuse the fire station has recently been rebuilt and reclaimed. This proud and fine station has risen again from the ashes to provide support and safty once more for the citizens of Malton.

History

Once a fine and respected Fire station holding an exemplatory record for safty and civil protection. This block has been chosen as a location for scentoral imaging by harman conservationists who use it to maintain a full migratory map of zombie movements throughout Malton. damage-resistant, zombah-friendly keypads have been installed for the uploading of data.
