History
Formerly the Coward Theatre (after Noel Coward), in its heyday this venue witnessed performances of works by Coward, Wilde, Orton and the Blue Man Group.
However, by the Naughty Noughties audiences for mildly humorous performance art by blue-hued slapheads dwindled, and shortly before the outbreak the famous 'boards' and auditorium were transformed into yet another bland corporate multiplex cinema for Malton's popcorn-crunching fans of celluloid and cellulite. At times, when casting a glance at the remaining audience, it is hard to tell who the zombies and who the living are - although the choice of snacks is generally a give-away.
