Basic Info:

  • Excellent place to find first aid kits. Zombies frequently check inside.
  • Portable Generators have a use other than powering the lights and increasing search probability in hospitals. Players with the Surgery Skill can heal for 15 HP if the Hospital has a fueled up Generator.
  • Hospitals can be barricaded normally.
  • Among the internal descriptions found in Hospitals:
    • "...its wards and corridors blackened with the soot of a recent fire"
    • "...its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape."
    • "...one of the city's psychiatric hospitals."
    • "...dark corridors leading through abandoned wards."
    • "...its emergency room in disarray."
    • "...its lobby covered with quarantine posters."
    • "...a children's hospital with bright murals across the walls. "
    • "The main lobby is riddled with bullet holes."
    • "It was one of the last to be evacuated, and seems to have been cleared out in a hurry."
    • "...a derelict hospital that was closed down years ago."

Ephrem General Hospital is an imposing yellow-stone building, its doorway flanked by statues.

This is considered to be a tactical resource point and is usually kept barricaded to VSB+2.

4/26/10-WULVES Sitrep: EGH 53,93-Hospital secured but forced to LOCKED DOWN status. Zed groups attemping to parachute Pinanta to take advantage of higher cades. Heavy fighting. Main Hospital staff returned. Suvivors are advised to use alternative routes. Staff have managed to restore power and Build is fully functional for freerunners only due to siege condition. Survivors using Binochs are advised that 7-8 zeds standing is only partial number due to large numbers of bodies. 4/25/10-WULVES Sitrep: EGH 53,93-Hospital restored and recaded to VSB+. Local Zedstar TripleU loose in the wards-currently being hunted by hospital orderlies using tranq darts, TEAM MONKEY operatives and at least one WULVES operative with an Axe. Even with multiple hits TripleU still standing (Although he is slowing down)-last seen headed towards the Psych Ward. Hopes for a capture and release outcome have dimed with the arrivial of Spec Ops units. Survivors are advised to avoid the area for the next 24 hours as Team Monkey + Wulves Black Ops units converge on scene to hunt this dangerous Zed. Generator repaired, survis cured of infection. Efforts of area units have shifted to evacuation of hospital staff and attempts to prevent second Pinata attack. 4/23/10-WULVES Sitrep: EGH 53,93-Hospital is caded VSB++ through the efforts of Team Monkey to provide the citizens of Wyke Hills walk-in clinic care even in the middle of a siege. Wulves/2nd Company report a deathcultist Pinata-parachutist believed to be in league with the mini horde was intercepted at the front of the building early this morning. It is believed that this was an attempt to take advantage of the overcading noted yesterday. Fortunately, the Allied groups in the area anticipated this type of action and switched to vigilante VSB++ cading and aggressive patroling to counter such tactics. October 09, 2006 Ephrem General has been cleared out of zeds and I brought the cades up to VS. Don't know how long it will hold but it should be temporarily clear. This is ImpureDenial3 signing off. September 1, 2006 I'm still at Eprem, and we now number 15 or so. We've secured a number of buildings around us and have been doing extensive recon work. Our next goal is to revive all the folks at East Greyside's Wicklen Monument (60,89, which is ~3NE of here). The problem is, there are zeds to the SW (back towards Buckley -- which would mean that if we press forward, we stand to lose what we've gained so far). I could use some Buckley forces to clean up behind us. Colonel al

August 31, 2006 I am still at Ephrem General Hospital (93, 58) 4 of us are holding the place and nearby warehouse. It is taking a bit longer than expected to truly secure this area before moving on (the same 5 zeds keep coming back and make us waste AP fixing 'cades.). Plus, we need a revive specialist from Buckley to join us and to go north to the revive point and empty it out for us (and give us more people to fight with). Another few days (faster, if we can get more help), and we'll begin preparations for our second move to the NE and Blesley. If Ephrem Hospital falls again, we have also secured the warehouse 1SE as a fallback position. Just make sure that anybody you have with you has free running, because we have the warehouse at EHB. 29 August 2006 I am at Ephrem General Hospital (93, 58) right now and have prepared 'cades and such for additional forces headed toward Blesley. I will recon the area a bit more this evening. I should mention that I took "construction" instead of "diagnosis" for my latest training upgrade, since I heard that maintaining the 'cades at Blesley was a problem for Stickman. So, if you need heals, you'll have to let me know directly since I can't diagnose yet.

BTW, I've noticed that the local zeds are quite skilled, compared to the area humans. In a 1:1 battle, they have us clearly outmatched. I'm not surprised that we can't get our acts together. Me and a couple of others were completely abused by 1 zed inside Ephrem Hospital, with VS+2 'cades. I can now see why some of the entry points at the mall keep going up to EHB.
