Description

Sadley Way Fire Station is a fire station located in the suburb of Pescodside. Sadley Way was opened in 1940 as part of a city plan to help curb the higher-than-average number of fires in the suburb during that time. Unfortunately Sadley Way Fire Station had more than its share of misfortune, including a fire that killed 2 firemen in 1956. Due to these incidences many firemen considered the fire station to be "cursed". When some firefighters began reporting strange sightings late at night many considered that the station was not only cursed, but haunted too. As one might guess this did little to stem the steady flow of firemen requesting transfers from the station. In the years that followed Sadley Way Fire Station never truly met the horrific fate many people assumed it would, but to this day those that chance to take shelter behind its walls can't help but notice the chill wind that seemingly blows through the building's halls late at night...

Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, was quoted as once having said, "I don't believe in ghosts or curses, and for that I see no reason to visit that particular fire station... EVER."

The Malton Fire Department has been known from time to time work from Sadley Way Fire Station in their efforts to quell the zombie hordes.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a shelter for Malton's inexperienced survivors and entry point into other nearby fortified buildings.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or vigilante-minded survivor if caught in the act. If this happens the accused survivor is required to present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.

Survivors are reminded that should any member of the Dulston Alliance who finds the barricades raised higher that Very Strongly without any apparent danger to the building or area they have the authority to lower the barricades back down to Very Strongly in order to restore access to the building from the outside.

It should be noted that, as the fire station, this building is under the management of the Malton Fire Department and therefore its barricade policy can be reset by them as the need arises. Hopefully this should not be in conflict with the standard policy for this location.

Current Events

December 5th, 2006 - (21:20 UTC) The zombies have returned. There are three of them in the station. They have overrun our defenses and are attacking survivors at will. Some survivors are being dragged out into the streets, and at least one of the zombies has infected several people. The curse returns once more...

February 13th, 2006 - (12:25 PM EST) The zombies inside the fire station have been cleared out, but already people murmur about the curse. How long will this newfound quiet last before the zombies return?

February 13th, 2006 - (8:17 AM EST) Zombies, again. Don't they have anything better to do? Two zombies are inside the station, but Caleb Usher dropped by and mentioned that he would send help from Treweeke Mall.

February 12th, 2006 - (8:54 AM EST) For the third day, the group of zombies holding the fire station has dwindled to a lone zombie, although survivor numbers here have also dramatically reduced over this period as survivors seek shelter in surrounding buildings not claimed by the walking dead. Locals fear that the curse of Sadley Way Fire Station has struck again...

February 11th, 2006 - (9:50 AM EST) For the second day the fire station remains overrun, with a half-dozen zombies wandering throughout the station. Survivors are asked to avoid this building unless they wish to join the attack on the walking dead. One can only wonder how long the attack will hold out against reinforcements mobilizing from Treweeke Mall and Pegrum Place PD.

February 10th, 2006 - (8:19 AM EST) The fire station has once again been overrun by zombies. Those that could fled into the night and those that couldn't met a grisly fate at the hands of the zombies. Currently there are no survivors left alive inside, but recon of the incident were quickly circulated to survivors at Pegrum Place PD and Treweeke Mall, thanks in part to the NecroNet report issued by the Waish Building that alerted survivors to the zombies at the fire station.

February 6th, 2006 - (8:14 AM EST) Zombies had broken into the fire station last night and started attacking survivors inside. Thankfully a NecroNet report issued by the Waish Building saw to it that reinforcements were promptly dispatched from Pegrum Place PD. It wasn't long after that the zombies sieging the fire station were subdued.
