Discussion (Food)

Maybe I'm just smashed from the combination of being sick, waking up early, and accidentally swallowing half a thimbleful of mouthwash, but this doesn't seem like a bad idea; who doesn't love food fights? Dupe-o-rific. Also, an unneeded survivor buff. Use FAKs for fak sake. --WanYao 15:20, 5 September 2009 (BST)

No more of a buff than beer is, and I can't seriously imagine someone saving their life by stockpiling 20% encumberance of food and blowing 10 AP just to get 10 HP without even losing an infection. Lelouch vi Britannia is helping make Ridleybank green_ and gives Achievements 15:22, 5 September 2009 (BST)
You're right and I am here to correct my "buff" argument. However, I don't feel it really does anything good for the game. And it's a megadupe anyway. --WanYao 15:23, 5 September 2009 (BST)
Linx or it didn't happen, and I certainly know an organization or two that would love to be able to throw food at people... Lelouch vi Britannia is helping make Ridleybank green_ and gives Achievements 15:26, 5 September 2009 (BST)

  1. Kill - I do not see how food heals HP. Reduce hunger level, yes, but how does it cure cuts, bruises, gunshot wounds et cetra. How, tell me. HOW? --~Dr Frank (t) (DF) [P] (Sb) 09:35, 6 September 2009 (BST)
    Same way Beer does. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 14:35, 6 September 2009 (BST)
You mean with ACTUAL science? Because that would be completely ridiculous. Alcohol cleanses wounds. It's actually used by doctors. Food isn't.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 14:40, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Medical alcohol? Maybe. Beer? Unlikely. --Alexander Dawkins 15:43, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Wow, you really don't understand how science works.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 15:48, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Find me one example in all of recorded history of a doctor using beer to treat a patient. --Alexander Dawkins 17:01, 6 September 2009 (BST)
It's none of my business, but I hate ignorance.
Alcohols can be used as a beverage (ethanol only)... Ethanol can be used as an antiseptic to disinfect the skin before injections are given, often along with iodine.
Source: a quick wiki-ing of Alcohol, and during the civil war, booze was often the most available and used form of sterilization (the next runner up being fire) Lelouch vi Britannia is helping make Ridleybank green_ and gives Achievements 17:22, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Alright, do you want Renaissance military medics, such as Pare, or Barber surgery from the pre-renaissance, in which Beer was a primary aspect of surgery. Of course, we could just analyse the basic aspect of beer, it being alcohol and all, to know that it can cleanse a wound. Perhaps, when you know enough about medicine, instead of just trying to prove a bull point about a stupid suggestion, I'll respond to you.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:24, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Edit conflict. So yeah, basically what we've both said.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:25, 6 September 2009 (BST)
While you lot are correct about alcohol having the possibility of being used to sterilize wounds, the fact is that in game it specifically states "You drink the beer/wine.". So I don't see why food could not have a similar effect. However, more clutter items, meh. - User:Whitehouse 17:43, 6 September 2009 (BST)
And I have long contested that flavour text. But that isn't the matter here. HE quite specifically asked for a case that alcohol had been used to treat injuries. There are several hundred cases. --Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 18:08, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Uh, guys. My question was that how food heals HP, not the other way round. So my question remains unanswered. Unfortunately. --~Dr Frank (t) (DF) [P] (Sb) 18:10, 6 September 2009 (BST)
The point is that it doesn't. He said that it does it the same way as beer. It doesn't, so I'm defending your point.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 18:14, 6 September 2009 (BST)
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I guess in real life, food doesn't heal cuts, bruises etc... unlike the way how, in real life, you can carry two generators and still leap from rooftop to rooftop in a single bound. Oh yes, and the way how in real life people get attacked by zombies if they venture out onto the streets alone. Don't worry though, they can be brought back to life with a nifty little syringe those smart guys down at Necrotech just happened to have just for this very occasion. --Alexander Dawkins 01:06, 7 September 2009 (BST)
Well, if you want to make a suggestion to remove zombies from the game, be my guest. Not only is it a dupe. You'll also get banned. Now I've actually done free-running in real life, so once again, you're an idiot. Generators aren't as heavy as you think they are, also. But the most important thing is game balance, which you seemingly don't understand. THis is a bad idea. Live with it.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 07:17, 7 September 2009 (BST)
In Nexus War drinking alcohol gives an affect called 'Drunken', which increases damage resistance and fist damage in exchange for reduced accuracy. So maybe drinking beer in UD makes you a little tipsy and makes you able to take one more blow, in other words +1 HP. And I never thought of Free Running as 'jumping' from one building to another. More like finding connections, like ventilation or sewers... --~Dr Frank (t) (DF) [P] (Sb) 10:30, 7 September 2009 (BST)
No, free running's a real thing. Not connections, jumping. It's essentially parkour.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 11:01, 7 September 2009 (BST)
Back on topic...food DOES make you feel better...--Matthewbluewars /New City\ 20:19, 7 September 2009 (BST)

Maybe because we play a game about zombies—The preceding Template:Wikipedia comment was added by OrangeGaf (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.
