Please note that this is not a policy in the usual sense. It's more like a petition or a request for Kevan to update the software.

On that note, I appreciate the amount of work that Kevan puts into UD, but it's getting hilarious as to how out-of-date the Wiki is. I don't really want to force him to do anything, but our software needs to be updated. I should also note that previous attempts to do this via his talk page have been unsuccessful, and our only real option is to follow what the community of a few years ago did, and make a petition. I like this. I'd greatly appreciate limited protections for arbies, and with image undeletion we could crank the unused images scheduled deletion down to one week. I'm also thinking Event: and Group: could be added as namespaces in the future, but that's a whole new snake basket. 01:44, 17 July 2010 (BST)

There's an extension somewhere that allows the creation of new namespaces by sysops without having to mess with the server. If there's enough demand, I'll find it again (it's been a few years...) and add it to the policy. Linkthewindow  Talk  15:34, 17 July 2010 (BST)

Why Not Upgrade?

There's no real cost involved, backwards compatibility is a non-issue (with Wiki software) and it would only take a few hours to implement, max. I don't think Kevan's ever really gotten around to it. Linkthewindow  Talk  12:40, 17 July 2010 (BST)
