"This may be a stupid question. The Get Out of Jail Free Card: Is that real?"

(Recording starts to play.)

This is my story:

Before the quarantine, I was just a normal college student. I was going to school for mechanics. I was right out of high school and ready to start school when the quarantine occurred. I continued with school until they started drafting people to fight the fight and patrol the walls. I graduated from college, to my dismay. College was the only thing keeping me from being drafted.

Back home I had a caring family, loving high school sweet heart, an a job promised to me after college. It all flashed away the day I was drafted. I was forced to patrol and secure a section of the wall enclosing Malton. Eventually I was picked for more dangerous jobs of going into the city and recovering information.

Usually the information was bank account info, important documents, expensive items, precious artwork, gems, jewelry, basically junk to us. The recovery missions were such horse shit, just ways for the military to continue funding the quarantine. Eventually I was airdropped into the city to recover a certain survivor for questioning of a lost sergeant.

Of course the asshole knew something but it seemed that we were lured into a trap. After about 5 minutes with the guy zombies started to break into the building. Once they broke into the building we slowly started to take us out. Some of us being dragged onto the street others mauled right there. Soon it became less and less of use before I decided it was best to run.

I jumped out of the window of the building and into a neighboring building. There I eventually made my way around to the Crew Avenue Police Department. A famed local militia there, donning the name of the police department, who had been there since basically the beginning of the quarantine. They allowed me to join their ranks.

After learning everything there is to learn about survival in Malton I decided to join one of my good friends, Sid James Jr.'s cousins, KempyClassic, in the DSS. There we foil sieges and attacks. We help keep malls up, revive as many people as we can, basically we are an anti-zombie force to be reckoned with. Although there are only a few of us, we have the heart and skill of the best and one of the greatest zombie counter measures to roam the city.

I just hope they find a cure soon. This is just not the thing you can do for the rest of your life. Although it seems all forms of aging have stopped. So it has been five years since the quarantine, two years since I was drafted, almost a year and a half since I got lost and my squad was killed, and a little over one year since I join CAPD.

My normal life stopped two years ago. I was ready to ask my sweet heart to marry me. Ready to move out on my own, start my job, then eventually start a family. I have not been able to talk to my blond sweet heart in so long. Insanity is always on the other side of a thin line. No barrier to stop us, no barricade to protect us, from the darkness that may consume us at one bad occurrence.

War isn't even this tough, this mentally straining. In war your enemy finally stops fighting and dies. This is Hell in its truest form. Your friends, the ones you made after the quarantine, can become the very thing you are trying to fight. Everything here is just so truly screwed up.
