Winscombe Crescent
Description
A conglomeration of mansions, villas and cribs formerly belonging to the ultra-rich of Pegton's privileged southwest, each clashing horribly with its neighbours, and each more glitzy and tasteless than the last.
History
The Crescent was once a stuffy, upper-middle class area, but the influx of residents with more money than sense (and no taste whatsoever) fleeing from the Perks Avenue Railway Station crime wave completely changed its character. Instead of bank managers, judges and doctors, the Crescent was overrun with record company producers, supermodels and speculators looking for somewhere secure and private - yet ostentatious. (Much to the delight of non-filthy rich people everywhere, the Crescent is now overrun with rotters of a somewhat different nature.)
The nearby presence of the formidable Fowles Plaza Police Department ensured that potential burglars were deterred, and visitors from Edgecombe were strongly discouraged (ie beaten up and tossed back over the border). Blissfully cocooned from the real world in their little bubbles of privilege, the residents of Winscombe were hopelessly unprepared for the horrors of the outbreak, which resulted in most of them falling prey to zombies within hours of the epidemic taking hold. Supermodels, being ultra-thin and not sufficiently meaty to be worth eating, were even seen being used as toothpicks by the more intelligent-seeming zombies.
