Description
An imposing stone building with bright green doors, which may be secured or wide open depending on the librarian's state of mind.
History
Celebrity local art lover and raconteur Gyles Isgar died a childless bachelor in his early 50s. As well as donating his art collection to the eponymous Museum, situated in his erstwhile home, the wealth he had derived from art auctions went towards establishing this library for Pegton's benighted children. As a well-spoken non-Pegtonian, Isgar was horrified by the casual slaughter of the English language perpetrated by Pegton's youth on a daily basis. The library's collection therefore has a decided bias towards books that develop child literacy, such as Dr Sauer's Dog on a Log series.
The upper floor's distinctive turrets were originally set aside for Isgar's rare art book collection; these days they are set aside for sniping at zombies through loopholes in the barricades, although these potshots have no effect.
Zombies may enter and use the library from time to time, but few still carry their membership cards. They seem uninterested in developing their literacy, preferring to grab harmannz manbagz and perform Abba and Bananarama karaoke, thus disturbing readers.
