Description

History

Blockwood Auto Repair was the first garage Sean Oh'Seear invested in after inheriting Seear Auto Repair in 1947.

He bought the location at an extremely low price, since the plot of land had been empty ever since the old sawmill that once occupied it had been demolished in the late 19th century.

Sean Oh'Seear decided to use the block's history for marketing purposes and named the shop "Blockwood Auto Repair".

As the second shop in the thriving Oh'Seear portfolio, the Blockwood location had its golden era in the second half of the 20th century and it provided a steady income for several households in Molebank.

Like the rest of Malton, Blockwood Auto Repair swiftly fell to the approaching hordes of the undead and survivors have been using it to find generator parts and fuel for over a decade now.

It has been rumored that John Rhames chops cars here. The truth of this is unknown.

According to some, the survivors in this area have a permanent aversion to light after celebrating too hard on New Year's Eve 2014. The party lasted all year, and the excessive alcohol consumption caused some effects of the hangover afterwards to become permanent. Visitors are asked to check if any groaning, shambling figure they see is a zombie or just local with a bad day before opening fire.

Barricade Policy

Please do not over barricade this building! It should be maintained as an accessible safe house and free running entryway and as such the barricades should be maintained at Very Strongly (VS+2). See the Uniform Barricading Policy for more details.

Current Status

The below timeline has been compiled from reports of survivors who visited the area, as well as those submitted by semi-permanent residents, such as Ody and Greenwarrior, local organisations, such as the DHPD and the Knights of St. Jude, who occupy nearby St. Jude's Cathedral and roaming survivor organisations like the Department of Emergency Management.

February 14, 2008 - Powered and caded. --Gran Rey

November 28, 2009 - Lithedarkangel, an experienced scientist, reports the building to be barricaded and in need of a generator.

February 17, 2010 - An envoy of the Order of the Black Rose finds the building to be empty, but barricaded and safe. The power problem seems to be a consistent one.

May 6, 2010 - Waykins reports that the power problem has finally been solved, although he doesn't know how strong the barricades are and how many zombies have been attracted to the light...

May 15, 2010 - It was as expected: the lights attracted several unwanted elements and Blockwood Auto Repair is now a Piñata.

August 9, 2010 - Survivors have reclaimed the premises, according to Kittithaj, an ally of the Dulston Alliance who got an External Military radio report.

October 26, 2010 - Blockwood is still a safe haven for survivors, with well tended barricades and a generator providing power for the lights.

November 1, 2010 - A short incursion has occurred, but several survivors are already rebuilding. The barricades are back up and a couple of people went out to look for a generator.

February 14, 2011 - Blockwood Auto Repair is as comfortable as an auto repair shop in a zombie apocalypse can be.

April 11, 2011 - A pack of undead that came from the Cathedral have breached the perimeter. Most of the survivors inside managed to flee before they did, but several defenders had nowhere to go and they fell in the now ruined building...

May 6, 2011 - No one has yet rebuilt Blockwood, and it is still ruined, like most of the neighborhood.

June 8, 2011 - Two months after the horrible events that turned Molebank into a ghost town, Louis Vernon reports that the building has been repaired and basic barricades have been set in place. As of yet, the survivors don't dare to set up a generator yet, as they fear a repetition of the horrible events that took place in april.

June 13, 2011 - And they were right to be careful: Blockwood Auto Repair is under attack, with zombies knocking at every door and window and several buildings in the area already breached by the undead.

July 7, 2011 - The survivors eventually persisted, but they took casualties and the auto repair shop was badly damaged. Rebuilding is ongoing.

August 5, 2011 - Blockwood is a bastion for roaming survivors: there is a generator humming in the corner and the barricades are arranged so that the shop can serve as an entry point.

August 15, 2011 - The damn generator did it again! A bunch of zombies heard it, tore down the barricades and are now inside. Not good.

August 27, 2011 - Zombies and survivors have been trading blows for the past few weeks. They have breached the barricades several times, but we managed to kick them out every time so far. The generator is still running, so at least we can see what we're doing.

September 9, 2011 - Ody reports that the survivors have succesfully driven off the hordes. Barricades are up, the generator is running and Blockwood Auto Repair now serves as the fuel distribution point for the Western half of Molebank.

September 18, 2011 - A small incursion was dealt with and the damage is being fixed. The garage serves as an entry point again and is still lit.

September 30, 2011 - We ran out of fuel and spotted a couple of survivors who turned back and ran when they saw the lights shut down. Can't blame them, ever since the Outbreak everyone in their right mind would avoid a building that suddenly loses power...

October 2, 2011 - Nothing spectacular happened, everything's still safe and the only real job we have is finding a new supply of fuel. Son of Sin, one of the people who ran when the lights got killed, came back and joined us in the search for fuel.

October 20, 2011 - The lights are back up and we upped the barricades as a precaution. Lights tend to attract zombies... Other beings with a pulse will have to find a different point of entry.

November 12, 2011 - All is well. Barricades and generator are well tended to.

March 16, 2012 - Another small incursion. Blockwood is an entry point again and the lights are on, according to Greenwarrior.

July 15, 2012 - MEMS member TombTrash reports the building to be Very Heavily Barricaded, but the generator is running low on fuel.

July 23-26, 2012 - A colleague of TombTrash, Charles Whipplebotum, came by and spotted nothing new. Fuel supply seems to be holding out.

October 22, 2012 - Blockwood Auto Repair is under attack again. The Knights of St. Jude are keeping the undead at bay, along with several members of the Department of Emergency Management.

December 27, 2012 - Charmes Whipplebotum reports the area to be safe again and the generator up and running.

April 2, 2013 - A disheveled homeless man passed by and got a hot meal. He used the light to read a couple books he carries with him before moving on.

July 1, 2013 - Molebank has been overrun by zombies, Blockwood has fallen and is devoid of life. All rooms have been ransacked and ruined.

October 1, 2013 - The area has been reclaimed by the living. The Malton Fire Department sent Robbie McGregor to keep an eye on the situation.

December 20, 2013 - For the second year in a row, the inhabitants of Molebank can celebrate New Year's Eve in the safety of a lit Blockwood Auto Repair.

March 14-November 28, 2015 - After a long period in which no new reports reached the outside world, Blockwood Auto Repair is safe again. According to a member of the local survivor group '10 minutes from hell', this may have been a consequence of a year long hangover after the last New Year's Eve party. It would explain why all inhabitants of the Blockwood area in Molebank looked like zombies...

December 18, 2015 - Barricades are up, lights are off. A rumour is spreading that after the year-long hangover, the inhabitants of the area prefer an unlit environment.

February 8, 2015 - Someone activated the lights, much to the dismay of the survivors of NYE 2014.
