Current Events

4th June 2013 our scouts have recognized and identified one Rick Dulton,of 'Ridleybank Resistance Front',a group devoted to killing survivors, making their life impossible while ravaging buildings and leaving none alive. This particular Rick Dulton working for the zombies happens to find himself in his humanoid form, though known to have originated as a regular zombie type. Act with caution and best to attack, fend off any members of the RRF as they will surely not think twice nor spare you.

History

Club Backholer is located in southern West Boundwood. Since the 1930's it has been the foremost club for gay men in Malton. It is easy to believe that it has taken its name from its clientele, but it is actually the other way around. In 1933 the club was founded as a gentlemens' club, and soon formed into a club for "gentlemens' gentlemen", mainly due to its suggestive name. Several buildings in Malton are named after Arthur Backholer, but his identity is largely unknown after the Great Fire of 1912 when much of the city's archives were lost.

Club Backholer has seen many changes over the years, but has always been in the same location. In the mid 20th century its status as gay club was kept a secret due to the view on homosexuality taken by the current legal system. Since then it has been able to become a lot more public. Much credit for such acceptance has been attributed to a local conservative politician, who has been said to have been partly responsible for the increased prosperity of the club, one way or another, and to have enthusiastically welcomed the popularity of the club "with open arms"

"The club has been the site for more than its share of scandals, when leaders of the church and various conservative politicians, who have publicly condemned the sort of activities associated with the clubs clientele, have themselves been found to frequent the establishment under cover, as it were." Is an accusation made by a local pop music fan, possibly under the influence of terrorist brainwashing, as many unfortunate local youths have been thought to have been.

In recent years, the only scandal involving the site has been the tolerance of its existence being used as one of a number of propaganda attempts by what have been described as "intolerant misanthropes" to somehow defame prominent members of the local community for their generous acceptance of a gay element in West Boundwood. It is suspected that the prejudices of these bitter individuals results from inferiority complexes rooted in their rejection from the clubs of West Boundwood on the basis of not fulfilling their stringent dress codes.
