Description

Arkham High School is nestled on Damon Row in Old Arkham. There are three main buildings for the high school: the gymnasium/auditorium, the main building, and the shop building. Four adjacent fields sprawl behind the school, featuring a track, a football field, a baseball diamond, and a soccer field. An assisted learning trailer is set up behind the main school building, in order to deal with developmental needs students. An L-shaped parking lot frames the front of the main building and leads up to the shop, where students can work on their automobiles. Arkham High School had a few notable sporting events, and boasts one of the best track teams in the tri-county area.

When the building was operational, it could house 3,000 students from grades nine to twelve. The main complaint that the students had about the building was that ductwork in the building was breaking down, as the building has poor heating and cooling circulation.

History

Arkham High School on Damon Row was built in 1921 after the previous school building burned down to the ground a few months before under suspicious circumstances. The building has been renovated several times since then, but due to several budgetary cutbacks and the failure of levy support, the school has had trouble keeping the building updated.

Currently, the school has trouble keeping the generators on-line, as the machinery had been purposefully neglected in order to hopefully force a force a levy through on the voters.
