Rebecca's Diary
First page
Found this mostly blank diary a couple of nights ago, while doing a quick search around the safehouse. It looks girlish, probably from some teenager Maltonian who never had a chance to get it really started, couldn't find any names. I hid the few pages she wrote on in the house and kept the rest of the diary with me. Who knows, maybe I can put it to some use. Recording life in the quarantine might help me keep things in focus, something we all need while living in these dangerous, victimized streets. And should the worst ever happen to me, it can provide some tips and information to whoever finds it next.
I won't be giving much details about my location here, though. As a doctor I have to be careful about this, there are "people" out there willing to exploit Malton's desperate situation for their own gains and I REFUSE to help such individuals by leaking information. ~ Bec, April 26th 2008

Heard some noises out there last night, didn't go check it. Today I found four zeds outside the safehouse, not sure how they knew I was inside but it seems they were forcing the barricade. Dilana was amongst them, inert, "resting" with the others. Another zed laid at her feet, badly injured. It'll come back, they always do, but it's good to see she still knows who she is despite her condition. I hope someone who knows how to handle those NecroTech serums find her soon.
Had to find myself another hospital to look for supplies. People should have learned by now that these places must not be over barricaded, they must be accessible to everyone. If people can't get the supplies they need, they'll die and become the enemy. It's simple as that. Luckily there was another nearby, accessible. Dark and empty corridors don't scare me much anymore, there's some comfort in knowing you're drawing less attention. Didn't find supplies for many first aid kits, maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow.
Went back to the warehouse I found the day before yesterday. Bryan, codename Trojanman06, and Stephen Krants were there already. They're both MPD and good people. Bryan had some injuries, good thing I found him. Having company, some barricade at the door and no zeds outside always make me sleep better.
Doing nothing but supply runs is getting tiresome, and I know people out there need assistance. I'll see if I can do something about it this next week. ~ Bec, April 27th 2008

Woke up with the thing gnawing on my ankle, the pain was terrible. It was just before dawn. It bit me twice before I managed to free myself from its grasp, and then the bastard just stood there, motionless. Disinfected the wounds as fast as I could and then ran away.
The hospital I found yesterday with the lights on is now in ruins, the lights naturally attracted them. It was bad, they also attacked a warehouse nearby that was filled with survivors, a lot of people got killed. Jesus, I passed by those blocks just yesterday, helped some of those people with their injuries, and now they're dead.
Managed to find another hospital, a few blocks north, without any barricades. Thankfully, I found a lot of supplies in there, I'll be able to put together some much needed first aid kits for the survivors. Heard that we'll be relocating, operations aren't working out in this burb. We really need to get more organized if we're to make any difference here. ~ Bec, April 30th 2008

We relocated, this burb feels almost normal, plenty of lit buildings, survivors everywhere. Not many zeds around. Just finished my round, very busy day, plenty of people injured and one infection. Went back to the nearby hospital for more supplies and then returned to this museum. There's a man resting here, military from his looks.
Should be a quiet night. ~ Bec, May 2nd 2008

Got assigned to a district upon graduation, things have been slow. Not a lot of zeds around, not a lot of problems to deal with. It looks like the wave of undeath that got everyone spooked for a while is gone, for now. It's good, gives us some time to catch our breaths for when the zombies come again with renewed strength. And they will come again, they always do.
It might be a good idea to start practicing with weapons in the near future. ~ Bec, May 25th 2008
