Millerd Walk Fire Station, a fire-damaged metal-and-glass building surrounded by burnt-out cars.
Description
Millerd Walk Fire Station is a fire station located in the suburb of Pescodside. Millerd Walk was opened in 1941 as part of a city plan to help curb the higher-than-average number of fires in the suburb during that time. The Millerd Walk Fire Station does have one other footnote in Malton's history books for its captain, Ash Donald (1922-1994), whose numerous citations and commendations for saving lives and risking his own life beyond the call of duty branded him a true hero in the eyes of many Pescodside citizens. Even after Malton was overrun by zombies there are some who believe that one day another hero may arise to take up Ash's fire axe and strike a deadly blow against the zombie hordes in the area.
Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, was quoted as once having said, "Five fire stations? If only Malton were swarming with fires, not zombies, then Pescodside would have been one of the safest suburbs."
The Malton Fire Department has been known from time to time work from Millerd Walk Fire Station in their efforts to quell the zombie hordes. Of note, Captain Allen Ripley is noted to be the on-duty firefighter for this station.
Barricade Policy
This building should be Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a shelter for Malton's inexperienced survivors and entry point into other nearby fortified buildings.
Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or vigilante-minded survivor if caught in the act. If this happens the accused survivor is required to present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.
Survivors are reminded that should any member of the Dulston Alliance who finds the barricades raised higher that Very Strongly without any apparent danger to the building or area they have the authority to lower the barricades back down to Very Strongly in order to restore access to the building from the outside.
It should be noted that, as the fire station, this building is under the management of the Malton Fire Department and therefore its barricade policy can be reset by them as the need arises. Hopefully this should not be in conflict with the standard policy for this location.
