Goals: To make sure that Cheaters have no Safety
Recruitment Policy: All are welcome
Contact: Discussion
Disclaimer:
This is not a griefing policy, nor a policy designed to undermine Neutral Zones. The Founders of this Policy (and the Royal Society of Malton as a whole) support Neutral Zones and maintain their own. This is a specific reaction to players who practice unfair playstyles.
The No Safe Haven Policy is such:
  • The recognition that alt abusers and Zergers are harmful to the health of the game, and killing them discourages this behavior.
  • That regardless of your personal feelings towards Neutral and PK-Free Zones, Cheaters must never be allowed a safe place to sleep.
  • Anyone on the Resensitized Zerg Liste found anywhere in the city is to be killed or otherwise made unwelcome.

Introduction

Urban Dead has only 1 Rule: That you keep the existences of your characters entirely separate. Violators of this one simple rule are bad for the game's health, promoting griefing, cheating, and alt-swarming. To stop these cheaters, the Zerg Liste (now hosted on Resensitized) has been maintained since 2005, and is the single most used and recognized Zerg Listing found in the game, staffed by experienced, veteran zerg hunters and investigators, and home to the Zerg Hunters Unlimited. Organized, accountable Zerg Hunting has seen many zergers cease their unfair play practices, and has driven unrepentant zergers from the game.

There are many buildings and Safehouses in Malton which are maintained as Neutral Zones, PK-Free Buildings, or are simply controlled by groups which refuse to kill any other living being. Some of these places have taken offense when Zerg Hunters, hunting off the widely recognized Resensitized Zerg Liste, kill alt abusers found in these Neutral spaces.

Aims

This policy seeks to alleviate that pressure to maintain blind Neutrality, and give Neutral Zones an exception to the rule, as well as giving Zerg Hunters and other responsible citizens of Malton a fully formulated Policy to back up their actions.

There are many forms of Neutral Zones in the city, as well as many groups which refuse to partake in any form of PKing or ZKing. This Policy bypasses each of these, as it recognizes that Killing Zerg alts is not PKing, ZKing, or Griefing, but rather a custodial duty of every fair-playing resident of Malton.

This policy does not demand that its followers kill zergs on sight. Telling them to follow the steps to get off the Zerg Liste, asking them to leave the Neutral Zone, and/or calling in Zerg Hunters to remove them from such zones is also acceptable. What is not acceptable is protecting a cheater in any way.
