Description
Arkham University resides on Painter Street nestled in the quiet suburb of New Arkham. The main campus sprawls out to include fifteen buildings featuring an extensive library, an indoor swimming pool and track areas, campus dormatories, and a tunnel system that allows students to go freely between classes and activities, regardless of the elements outdoors. The college has had several renovations, but kept it's original look intact, paying heed to continue it's tradition of providing service to families of modest convenience.
History
Built in 1768 and established by Daniel Menalson, Arkham University and the surrounding area has remained relatively unchanged. It was purposely established in a secluded area to provide a relaxing, tranquil learning environment for well-to-do families all over Malton. Originally featured as an all-around college, in the last 100 years, Arkham University became one of the foremost schools in the nation for history and journalism degrees, thanks to one of it's directors, Fineas P. Winklebottom. Fineas erected the Menalson Memorial Library in order to pay homage to the first director of the college, and promptly stocked the building with as many historical texts and documents as he could acquire. The university had most recently upgraded it's computer network, thanks to donations from several nearby NecroTech facilities, to offer distance learning classes and once served aspiring graduates from all over the world.
Events
July 17th, 2007 - Drama Club staged a performance of "Army of Darkness" at The Painter Street School as part of their Border Tour of Malton. The group plans to travel clockwise around the border suburbs of Malton with one show in each suburb. Today they performed for the two survivors here as part of this tour. May 28th, 2008 - Small group of zombies, N4PK1T took Painter Street School as it's official base. Do not barricade the building. Survivors can spend nights there without being killed, if they inform the guarding zombies inside. Zombies can also freely enter the building, but they are not allowed to kill survivors inside. All survivors outside are free to kill.
