20070922 Highlight XP When Enough For Level-Up

Vkkhamul 20:51, 22 September 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
A useful tweak to the interface.

Suggestion scope
All players who have enough XP to level-up.

Suggestion description
Whenever a player reaches 100 XP, the XP will be highlighted and linked to the "Buy Skills" page, which will help remind them to level up!

Why, you ask? Well, many players, such as myself, are so intent on killing that one zombie/survivor that they forget that they have enough experience to purchase a skill!

(Yes, Shartak has this same feature, and I find it useful.)

Keep Votes

  1. Keep- Author vote xD--Vkkhamul 20:52, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep usfull keep --Dans34Talk Umbrella Corporation 20:54, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - This is a good suggestion if the problem of different xp costs for scientists/military is adressed.Studoku 23:52, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - Green=75, Yellow=100, Red=150. There. Now it would be cool to have it highlited and still be useful. doc crook 00:55, 23 September 2007 (BST)
    Hey, you're right! --Vkkhamul 02:14, 23 September 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Some skills require 150 XP, some require 75 XP. What about situations like that? - Whitehouse 21:26, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Just not that big of an issue.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 22:56, 22 September 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - no real need. If you don't remember to buy a skill, chances are its not that vital to you at the moment. --Pavluk A! E! 23:54, 22 September 2007 (BST)
Actually, it happened to me today.. I was fighting zeds at a mall, and I had 107 XP. I was supposed to get Pistol Training (it is vital to me at the moment), but I didn't, until I remembered when I got back to the safehouse. --Vkkhamul 02:18, 23 September 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill - If you "forget", chances are it really isn't that vital. If you're that focused on hitting the attack button again and again you probably wont notice highlighting. And Sockem, what the hell do you mean he's "fucking joking"? This isn't a freaking sniper rifle, it's a little bit of flavor/unnecessary crap. Spam if for stuff that isn't worth the wiki's or Kevans consideration.--Wooty 01:58, 23 September 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Not that I think it's a bad idea in theory, but Whitehouse's concern probably cannot be addressed reasonably. --Pgunn 02:35, 23 September 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - And what about people who already have all the skills they need? I would have my XP highlighted almost constantly, and it would be very irritating. This is probably something that would be better implemented in a browser extension. --Saluton 02:43, 23 September 2007 (BST)
I really appreciate your feedback. I really do! I might resuggest this in the future while keeping this issue in mind. --Vkkhamul 02:56, 23 September 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - Not really needed, as above. If you want to work on this suggestion, and resubmit it, you'd be well advised to remove it from voting, or you're likely to get dupe votes next time, unless you make big changes -- boxytalk • 03:16 23 September 2007 (BST)
  8. I don't think this is necessary.--Vow 03:26, 23 September 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam? Ya fuckin jokin right? Sockem 22:10, 22 September 2007 (BST)
Explain to me why this is spam... --Vkkhamul 02:14, 23 September 2007 (BST)
