Suggestion talk:20070822 Tear Down Doors
Comments from Swiers
I like the suggestion enouhg not to vote "kill", but there's enough annoying / unclear details to keep me from voting "keep".
Anyhow, to comment on Karek's "dupe" vote- the two are substantially different. This suggestion seems to allow zombies to convert buildings that have doors into ones that do not have doors, as part of a normaly barricade attack (I assume from outside or inside) without ruining the building itself. That means it can be done even to a mall section full of 200+ survivors...
mine only removes the doors in cases where the building is ruined, and requires no special effort on the art of survivors to repair beyond what it takes to repair a ruin, where-as this one requires a new door to be scrounged up in a hardware store.
Its actually that last bit I don't like, as no details are given on it, and its fairly unrealistic. Truth told, it would be much easier and smarter to install an improvised gate (as in fencing style gate, with a latch complex enough that only a human can work it) across the entire entry-way of a building (inside or outside) than it would be to find an exact replacement door. I suppose the effect would be about the same, but the suggestion lacks any details on the mechanics of this. Swiers 14:19, 26 August 2007 (BST)
- Your suggestion means that the doors are always open for feeding drag... even in a 200+ survivor inhabited mall... no one can even install a door from the hardware store, unless they have construction, to counter it! You don't seem to want to deal with the issue however The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talk • contribs) at 15:10 26 August 2007 (BST)
- In a 200+ survivor inhabited mall, surely ONE person would take the time to build a loose barricade, thus blocking feeding drag. No? Well then they all deserve to DIE from stupidity. Swiers 17:00, 26 August 2007 (BST)
Yeah, that would be because I foolishly linked the wrong suggestion, I meant this one I think Suggestion:20070815_RUINED_DOORS Which, I'm sure, you'll agree is extremely similar. Too many damn repeat suggestions lately, I'm getting tangled up, at least it wasn't about making revives easier or lowering encumbrance.--Karekmaps?! 12:41, 28 August 2007 (BST)
