20070815 RUINED DOORS

Brainz 12:52, 15 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Improvement to ruined buildings

Suggestion scope
Ruined buildings update

Suggestion description
There has been previous debate as to whether you should be able to close doors in a ruined buildings. Therefore I make the simple suggestion to remove the ability to close doors in a ruined building. Required to be repaired to either barricaded or ransacked, but not ruined. A simple ransack would still allow the doors to be able to close.

I think that the likelihood that you would be able close the doors even if the building is uderly trashed..doors smashed..jammed etc..until repairing it is just not balanced.

  2. Keep - I like it. It makes sence --  Savant  Chit-Chat  12:56, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - I kind of assumed that ruining a building would involve ripping doors out, smashing out windows ect. --Seventythree 13:03, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - Sure why not.--Karekmaps?! 13:08, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - It's pretty soon, but alright. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 13:09, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Keep - Makes sense. --John RubinT! ZG FER 14:06, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep - Might be a bit soon, but what the hell. Makes sense. --Midianian 14:18, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Keep - it's just common sense --~~~~T''' 14:45, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Keep - for great justice! --Sonny Corleone RRF CoL DORIS CRF pr0n 16:09, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Keep - Need something to make ruining beneficial.--Insomniac By Choice 16:28, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Keep - ever since Jim Morrison died all The Doors have been ruined anyway. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 17:01, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Keep - Should have been in the new update from the begining.--DonTickles 18:07, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  13. Keep - Makes perfect sense. --The Hierophant 18:40, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  14. Keep - The Doors sucked! :P.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 00:11, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  15. Keep Can we remove doors altogether? I mean, come on. How many times does a zombie have to ram a door to finally get it broke? --Secruss 04:13, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  16. Keep A bit soon, but a good idea. But of course, SOME people (-cough-boxy&labine-cough-) will whine about it. --Heiki 07:36, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  17. Keep - If survivors only need one AP to restore a ruined building, then it should be no problem for zeds to remove a freakin' door. --Aeon17x 14:47, 17 August 2007 (BST)
  18. Keep - Makes sense. Also, any survivor who sleeps in a ruined building and thinks that closing the door is going to save him deserves what he gets. Ransack is a sub-skill of MoL, after all.--Jiangyingzi 00:32, 20 August 2007 (BST)
  19. Keep - Assuming that Ruining doesn't inexplicably cause some major imbalance, I think this would polish the skill up nicely. -- Grim Rictus 05:52, 23 August 2007 (BST)
  20. Makes sense - This suggestion makes some serious sense! But, perhaps too soon. BoboTalkClown 16:56, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  21. Keep - As everyone else seems to be saying, thematically obvious, probably not implemented to allow things to balance over time but otherwise a good idea. --Bahhab 10:54, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  22. Keep - Yes, the zombies keep complaining about how little they can do, let's give them some more options to keep them happy. --Kazakum 03:11, 30 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Nothing wrong with the suggestion itself, it's just too soon. Let's wait and see how the Ruin skill affects tactics and game balance first. -- Pavluk 14:17, 15 August 2007 (BST)
Actually i suggested it to late. It SHOULD have been implemented in the first place with ruining buildings. <<not suggested after =) Brainz 14:29, 15 August 2007 (BST)
Kill - Let us get an understanding of the implications of ruined buildings before expecting us to make it even more powerful The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 14:37 15 August 2007 (BST)
I have been using this ingame for 2 days now, as such acouple of my members wanted to check inside a ruined building and found that they couldn't even get inside because it was closed??this does NOT make it much more powerful at all, just means lower leveled zombies can check inside buildings if they want to,...which doesnt currently make sense if your making it 5 times MORE RANSACKED :X Brainz 14:43, 15 August 2007 (BST)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It could mean that low level zergs have greater access to ruined (and hence ransacked) NT buildings, so they can be left to maintain the occupation... Most of us don't have the "2 days" of experience with this, so back off The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 15:18 15 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Too soon, just got implemented. Lets play around with it a little. Also what if it was a large metal door like in a school?--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 14:45, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Like the above, I also think that, suggestions such as this, are being created too soon. It would be better to sit on this, and wait to see how these changes affect gameplay, before suggesting more changes - regardless of whether or not you think it should have been implemented with the most recent change --Ryiis 14:53, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Kill As boxy.--Wooty 17:06, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill --Jack13 12:05, August 15, 2007
  6. Kill - too soon. --Pdeq 17:51, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - I would suggest withdrawing this and seeing how things play out with the new changes. Bring this back in a couple weeks, if it still seems necessary. --Steakfish 00:28, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill- It makes sense, but its too soon. As long as nothing else is required to repair the doors and we've seen how ruin affects the game. --ToastrlordT TSA 01:46, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Give changes time before suggesting things related to them.--Pesatyel 05:19, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Kill too soon - wait and see what pans out. plus, i think that this would hurt new survivors more than anyone else Sanpedro 05:32, 17 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Kill -yeah, how long had it been since the change when you made this suggestion? a couple days, maybe?--AlexanderRM 23:20, 19 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Kill -As above. --Private Mark 20:59, 23 August 2007 (BST)
  13. KILL Boxy pretty much said it... --Driaquer 04:37, 29 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Just seen that toolboxes are 16% encumbrance, that's a huge nerf to barricaders... that's what makes ruining benificial... and yet you want more, more MORE!!!! Fuck off, don't break the game The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 16:33 15 August 2007 (BST)
  2. HELL NO! - Remove toolboxes and we'll talk.--Labine50 MHG|MEMS 06:47, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - First needles, then ransack, now ruining- how much harder do you want to make the game??? --MarieThe Grove on Tour 13:28, 16 August 2007 (BST)
