- Your vote on my Prestige/XP suggestion: "I don't really see the detriment of having a large amount of xp".

That's low, Jon. And I wonder where you got the idea for "total XP earned", eh? The least you could've done before blatantly riding on the back of my Prestige suggestion was wait until it had gone through voting. --Funt Solo QT 16:10, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

- Ah, the XP cap was your suggestion, eh? Well, that makes your upset a bit clearer- you made a good faith effort to re-work that idea. I don't see any need for thanks; the wiki is an intentionally collaborative medium, with the exchange and re-tooling of ideas being its purpose. Still, I like the direction Jon took this in; having a means to actually use up the XP on impermenent effects is better than just rolling them over into a score tracking stat. It seems the timing and such that upsets you more than the suggestions content. Perhaps we should have some posted guidelines as to "suggestion development etiquette" or some such? Because it would be a lot more fun around here if folks could co-operate to develop new ideas rather than feeling like their baby was kidnapped when they see something inspired by their stuff. - What really pissed me off is that the same logic Jon used to vote against my suggestion, he turned around to promote his own. That's what I couldn't stomach. I think you're right - where a good suggestion comes from isn't all that important. I did honestly find this version of Jons horribly overpowered, though, thus my vote. --Funt Solo QT 20:22, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- The problem with characters having large amounts of XP isn't that it makes it easy for them to buy new skills (if any are every introduced); most any character who is level 10+ can manage that in a few days time. The real problem is that, beyond a point, XP serves no useful purpose, because new skills are added so rarely (and rightly so). (Hell, beyond a point, SKILLS serve little purpose; my newer characters are all under level 25, having no use for more skills; the more new characters I play, the fewer skills I find I really want to buy them). So while Jon's rhetoric is poorly phrased and may seem suited only to serve the situation, it does make a sort of sense in the context(s). Swiers 20:45, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Seems a decent idea. I could see zombie groups roving between hospitals / NT's / Museums, ruining them as they go. The members with the most XP would then train in "Rampage", and do ALL the barricade attacks the next day, allowing those with less XP to earn enough to train for the next round...
