Door Smash
Timestamp: | Nalikill TALK E! W! M! USAI 04:23, 19 December 2007 (UTC) |
Type: | Balance change |
Scope: | Who or what it applies to. |
Description: | Newb zombies will be able to smack down doors for 5 AP. These doors will be considered merely to have the lock broken, and can be set right by any survivor for 1 AP, and then he can close the door for another AP. Then, with MOL, a zombie gains the ability to SMASH DOWN the door for 5 AP- obliterating it, meaning a survivor with a toolbox will need to come in if they want the doors repaired. Without a door, a building can be caded as normal- but if caded, the door will be irreplacable until the barricades are down- and barricades will be 10% harder to build. |
Discussion (Door Smash)
no, the doors in malton are Uber Mega doors of Steel, not normal wood doors--CorndogheroT-S-Z 04:43, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hehehe. So do you like the suggestion, then? I figured, reading all of the suggestions on the wiki, that I had better get the stick out of my behind, in regards to suggestions, so I try to always figure out balanced solutions. Nalikill TALK E! W! M! USAI 04:44, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I thought doors were always considered unlocked, since when does being alive/remembering life make you an expert lockpick? MoL just gives zeds the motor skills to work a doorknob. I would raise the AP cost, make it more of a move of desperation than anything, as a door, with frame and everything, would be harder to bash through than a few chairs propped against the doorway.--CorndogheroT-S-Z 04:53, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- This I like. One small point though, maybe this would apply to some buildings, but some buildings would have doors that this would not apply to. I was thinking buildings like warehouses, which usualy have large shutter doors and only one, reinforced steel door.--SeventythreeTalk 13:04, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- I like it but I think it's a dupe.Studoku 15:39, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

I like the 1st part. BoboTalkClown 22:22, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
I think it's close to a dupe, but still a pretty good idea. I think the barricade debuff is a little high though. Maybe 5%? -- Ashnazg 0808, 21 December 2007 (GMT)

It seems the most common problem is with the barricade nerf. Tell me if you would vote for this suggestion if it had this addition-
Survivors can go outside and repair the door if there are no standing zombies. Nalikill TALK E! W! M! USAI 04:00, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- There will almost always be a standing zombie. -- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:00, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- But again, that's another tactical option: is it worth it to spend the ammo to take down the outside zeds so you can repair the door? It gives zeds standing outside and killing them a purpose. Nalikill TALK E! W! M! USAI 04:02, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'd rather laugh as they waste their days worth of ap, then blow their head off and toss them out. :/ -- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- That's what you'd RATHER do. But would THEY rather do that? This makes the game more fun for everyone; it's a minor annoyance to them to get killed outside, and it would be a fair sized task for a survivor. Nalikill TALK E! W! M! USAI 04:06, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Mmm. We'll wait for other imput, then.-- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:07, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Would you vote for it, though, if I removed the barricade nerf entirely? Nalikill TALK E! W! M! USAI 04:22, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah. -- AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Remove it and I'd be very likely to vote kill. It's pretty much the only real thing making this suggestion worth keeping and possibly not a dupe. Door removal means nothing if Doors can be strafed as a barricade level.--Karekmaps?! 06:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
