Lie Still

Timestamp: Bathe 01:51, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Type: Skill
Scope: Survior to buy, all can use.
Description: A miscellaneous skill (therefore costing 100xp to gain) is the ability to lie down for 1AP where ever you are. When you lie still, you appear as a dead body on the street or in the building where you were to everyone there unless they have scent death. If they have scent death, the zombie or human with that skill can attack the player who is lying down, and drag them to their feet in the process. (When you attack, the player is automatically dragged to their feet.) Now, before this is marked as a ninja skill, please read this. The player would still have to pay the AP to stand up as if they were revived or killed. This skill would be useful in for players to hide or allow themselves to time out gracefully while still having a way to counter it. Furthermore, if the person or zombie is inside a building and then uses the Lie Still skill, surviors inside can push their body out.

Discussion

well this suggestion would be spamed in momments if you put it up. this is just way to over powered. although i do like the idea of being able to "time out" whenever you want, with maybe a 5 day limit before you can log back in.--Blood Panther 03:04, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Re: I thought that it might be a bit overpowered, but this is why I thought both sides could use it...and that the stand up cost remains. I do admit, it does sound a bit ninjaesque. But this also allows a venue for people to time out but have to wait a bit for it. --Bathe 03:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Crank the cost way, way up. Like, 240 AP (120 hours' / 5 days' full AP gains). It would make timing out for vacation or whatever safe, but make any attempt at short-term abuse very, very costly. --Mold 03:18, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Re:Actually, that is a great way to do it. However, how would we implement it so that it becomes a natural part of the game... Maybe having to be in a hospital or a Necrotech building and using a special syringe or something. Some way to make it more part of the RP... Great point. --Bathe 03:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

It's called not logging in for 5 days. You character disappears until you log back in. Read the official UD FAQ. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • RE: Already read through it. I was just saying, this provides a method to log your character out and time them out at that moment. This way, a person can safely go on vacation without leaving their survivor standing. I am liking the suggestion to make the cost 240 ap to log out. My idea is a bit too useful for ambushers though, but I like the idea of being able to leave when you plan to leave without having to risk your character being killed if you wont be on for a while. Though I can see where the forced wait would make it impossible to abuse timeing out. --Bathe 04:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

e Yes this is a ninja skill and will be spammed. Not all survivor players have Scent Death, not to mention that skill would make this one COMPLETELY useless. And requiring the normal stand up cost? Two words: Ankle Grab.--Pesatyel 06:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

From the Author: Admittedly, this was poorly thought out, but the input really helps. I withdraw this as a serious suggestion, but please comment still on it and also on vacation setups. --Bathe 06:10, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Here's how I would abuse this if I were a death cultist and wanted to cause some chaos:

  1. Select a target building (to be attacked in a week)
  2. Using "zombie bomb" tactics, I would get infected, free run inside, use up my AP and die.
  3. Rise as a zombie (full HP but low AP)... and here's the kicker,
  4. Time out for a week. (My entire group would do the same thing, go on vacation, and then just suddenly appear out of nowhere on a set day and time.) --Uncle Bill 04:08, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

This is also prone to zerg abuse because you could have one set of alts active for a week, then safely disappear while you bring back your other alts and use them. Also great for hiding after a PKing spree. --Uncle Bill 04:08, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

RE: Did you read this part? - "Furthermore, if the person or zombie is inside a building and then uses the Lie Still skill, surviors inside can push their body out." The suggestion was to make them appear dead, not invisible. --Matt Scott 9 12:22, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
