Advanced Construction

Timestamp: ShadowScope 01:51, 21 October 2006 (BST)
Type: Skill
Scope: Suriviors, Cross-over Zombides
Description: Here is an idea that has been bugging me for quite some time.

Usually, you don't see the accurate barricade level of the building. Instead, you see a basic flavor text saying, Lightly barricaded...or Strongly Barricaded. I suggest that a new skill, Advanced Construction (100 XP) be introduced, as a child skill of Construction. This allows you to know the current "Barricade HP", just by looking at it, working quite similarly to Diagonsis. This can be explained by suriviors starting to understand how much stress can a barricade hold before collasping to the Zeds. It allows for Suriviors to estimate how much AP will it take for the Zombies to destroy the Barricades, as well as allow them to detect if the barricades are being attacked (if, during their wait, they see the Barricade HP number go down). It will help Suriviors come up with new meta-game tactics.

Advanced Construction is a cross-over skill. This means that Zombies also have the ability of gaining the skill too, like they do with Diagonsis. It will help with Zombie tactics as well, so that Zeds know how much AP will take to tear down the building's barricades. Overall, it looks to be a fun skill that allows for planning and skill, and gives vetran players a skill to play with.

Example text: You are outside the Somebody Building. The building is very Strongly barricaded (9).

Discussion I hope that this is a good suggestion. I fear I may be nerfing the flavor of barricades a bit too much, hence why I placed it here.--ShadowScope 01:51, 21 October 2006 (BST)

This has been suggested before and didn't do very well. I'll try to find a link. However, part of the fun is NOT knowing the level and even then, it only takes a few hits to actually (for a zombie) KNOW what it is. If you knock it down from VS to QS, you know it will only take 7 more hits to remove.--Pesatyel 03:37, 21 October 2006 (BST) EDIT: Found it in Peer Rejected.--Pesatyel 03:56, 21 October 2006 (BST)

Peer Rejected huh? I guess then the populat has spoken against this suggestion. Thanks, Pesatyel.--ShadowScope 04:16, 21 October 2006 (BST)
