Tempting ;) ~Vsig.png 05:30, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Discuss is, in practice, useless because all normal discussion starts on the main page. -- LEMON #1 15:23, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Agreed. Edited out.~Vsig.png 15:37, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Question. Could it be worked out with Ifs to automatically spit out the two variations? I'm not 100% sure how to code them, but when you consider that UDWiki Administration is a namespace, you could have it detect {{BASEPAGENAME}}, and spoot out based on whether it's Promotion or Re-Evaluations. No? Strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others 16:14, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

I had thought about that. I wouldn't use an if statement, though (although I'm sure it could be done). Instead of using a variable, to control the switch, I would use {{FULLPAGENAME}} like so:
{{switch |{{FULLPAGENAME}} |case: UDWiki:Administration/Promotions=''blah blah blah code code code'' |case: UDWiki:Administration/Re-Evaluations=''blah blah blah code code code''}}
But the thought occured to me that one might want to place the template on other pages or, in the case of a former sysop opening another A/PM bid, might want to use the A/RE version on A/PM. Not a bad idea, mind you but this version offers a bit more freedom. ~Vsig.png 16:33, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
And I see that MHSstaff had the same idea. So yeah, just place it on the page and you're good to go it seems. ~Vsig.png 16:35, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
There is something wrong with my default case switch. Any ideas? If we can get this work, you can choose which one you want or it defaults to the fullpage one. -MHSstaff 16:54, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Found it. Spaces are dumb. Just tested on both, and it works in the preview space. -MHSstaff 16:59, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
It might be worthwhile to use BASEPAGENAME instead of FULLPAGENAME so that when it is moved to underneath the A/PM,A/RE space, it still works. The basepage should work in theory, but since all the subpages are protected and I am not a magic-sysop-type-person-thingamajig, I can't really test it.-MHSstaff 17:02, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
It doesn't.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:06, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
You would have to modify the template to use Basepagename and edit the cases. What does basepagename say in A/RE and a subpage of A/RE?-MHSstaff 17:18, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
BASEPAGENAME just drops the namespace in from of the page name. So UDWiki:Administration/Promotions would become Adminsitration/Promotions. These changes won't work when bids are moved away from A/PM and A/RE. They are archived at A/PM/Username and A/RE/Username and so the template call would break at that time. ~Vsig.png 17:29, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually strike that. BASEPAGENAME also drops any subpages, so UDWiki:Administration/Promotions Would become just Administration. ~Vsig.png 17:39, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
I just threw in a default case for the fullpagename switch so that when it moves, it defaults to Promotions. That way, at least something will be there.-MHSstaff 17:49, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Problems

The misconduct link does not work, see Boxy's re-evaluation --Michalesonbadge.pngTCAPD(╯°□°)╯ ┻━┻ 00:23, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Changing boxy to Boxy seems to fix the problem. One of those case-sensitive issues. -MHSstaff 00:28, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Should be fine now. -MHSstaff 00:32, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
They both work for me. -- ϑanceϑanceevolution 00:46, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Nice fix, moonie. ~Vsig.png 00:55, 27 March 2011

A/SA button?

Should I add a link to the relevant Sysop Archive page for the person with a bid? Maybe only for RE, not PM bids? Bob Moncrief EBDW! 03:47, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Makes sense. And yeah, just RE. Aichon 07:23, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Think I did that right. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 15:06, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
