History
The Bowle museum started construction in spring of 1972, but thanks to a handful of delays in obtaining proper construction permits after a change in local legislature, the museum was not finished until late 1979. The grand opening was in January of 1980, with paintings by the artist Tshibumba Kanda-Matulu on display in the main gallery.
