IMPORTANT NOTICE: This group is now over and has ended. Any remaining members have now signed up to the new Maltonian Expeditionary Force.
The Maltonian Art for Intelligent Minds Society - or MAIM for short - is a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse in Malton who are decicated to the preservation and restoration of some of the priceless artworks hidden within the city's bowels - and by 'priceless artworks' we mean 'zombie heads', and by 'preserving' and 'restoring' we mean 'putting bullets in' and 'bludgeoning' - and also the recording and safeguarding of what little knowledge remains in Malton. We will also fiercely defend such places where culture and intelligence once reigned. So much has been lost, yet so much more can be saved.
Updates: (most recent at the top):
Important - Will all MAIM members please relocate to Pitneybank, the Powys Monument. Revives will be issued, and regrouping will take place.
There has been a change in revive point policy, as well as the removal of the Pearson Monument as M.A.I.M.'s second revive point, in order to coincide with the newly formed M.A.I.M. Revive Unit. --22:41, 19 July 2006 (BST)
All members of M.A.I.M. should retreat to the nearby buildings and try to fight off the Apocalypse Horde wherever they can. --07:50, 7 July 2006 (BST)
Could all members of M.A.I.M. return to the Cathedral as soon as possible; restocking your supplies of ammo, syringes and first aid kits is fine, though you should come to the Cathedral immediately afterwards. --20:27, 5 July 2006 (BST)
Radio information added. --08:44, 3 June 2006 (BST)
A zombie, or possibly several, have broken into the North Western corner of the Cathedral. Any members of M.A.I.M. in the area should do their best to rid the Cathedral of unlife. --21:15, 24 May 2006 (BST)
The North East corner of the Cathedral is now home to another group, Section XIII. As long as they keep their tag in that corner, I request that all members of M.A.I.M. do not tag over it. They may become an ally of ours later, and it wouldn't do to replace their tag with our own. --16:24, 22 May 2006 (BST)
Could all active members send a message to Lord of the Pies on their Mobiles, please? Thank you. If you are zombified then please wait at either of the revive points. --15:24, 20 May 2006 (BST)
There's a group of ferals that continually knocks the barricades down on the North Eastern corner of the Cathedral. Any help in dealing with them would be appreciated. --08:12, 18 May 2006 (BST)
Alright, the horde seems to have passed (yet a few ferals remain), so you should return to your safehouses and get the 'cades down to VS. --19:17, 17 May 2006 (BST)
Once you have been revived, aid with the defence of Mitchem Mall. However, you should try to find a safehouse to spend each night in (do not stay in the Mall). --19:17, 12 May 2006 (BST)
Could anyone else who is at present still alive check both revive points each day? Thank you. --16:49, 3 May 2006 (BST)
If you need revives then go to either of the revive points (listed below) and a member of M.A.I.M. should be able to revive you soon. Seeing as roughly eighty zombies are outside the Mall, you should either return to the Cathedral, the Daniels Museum or the Godfry Museum, which are all safe areas (the Museums are, at any rate). Divert your efforts to defending the Cathedral if at all possible. --19:43, 30 April 2006 (BST)
Important - The Shining Ones plan to attack Vinetown from Edgecombe. Everyone is to return to the Cathedral, unless I've ordered you not to (you should know who you are). If you die, go to one of our revive points and you should be revived quickly. If you survive and the Cathedral has been overrun then retreat to Mitchem Mall and help the defense there.

Revive point information added. Page organised. --16:38, 25 April 2006 (BST)
Information
Objectives and Policies
1. To protect all nearby places of culture, art, literature, education and intelligence.
2. To put up appropriate security notices describing the restoration works taking place.
3. To put an end to the rampant expansion of uncultured zombies and youths in Malton.
4. To preserve the state of the spoken and written word.
5. To defend both ourselves and the suburb of Vinetown from any dangerously uncivilised behavior.
6. To stay in communication with the rest of the Society.
7. To maintain long-range communication for the Society.
1. When an important (speaking in terms of MAIM's policies, i.e. all Schools, Museums, Churches, Cathedrals, Mansions and Libraries that are nearby) building is under MAIM's control, it must be barricaded to a sufficiently strong level (Very Strongly or Extremely Heavily depending on the current situation and the choice of the barricader). Powered Generators may be set up in buildings that would benefit from them.
2. Tag all of MAIM's buildings with the following message: "A _____ is being restored by the MAIM Society", with the blank area filled in with an appropriate word, for example 'statue', 'artwork', 'stained glass window', 'classroom', 'stage', 'prop', 'bookcase' etc.
3. Kill all zombies on sight, unless they are standing on a revive point, or are known to be a member of MAIM or any other friendly survivor group.
4. If anyone within a safehouse belonging to M.A.I.M. says anything unintelligible (AOLer-speak, leet-speak, etc.) then ask them to repeat what they said in proper, understandable English.
5. Kill PKers who delight in killing and defend the suburb from any other major threats.
6. All members of the Society should ensure that they have a Mobile Phone and that all other members of the Society are on their Contacts list.
7. Place Radio Transmitters and powered Generators in our important buildings. Try to maintain them and replace them if they get destroyed. M.A.I.M.'s Radio Station is on 27.64 MHz.

Recruitment
In addition to being in the Vinetown area and being an intellectual, there are a few other requisites. Anyone who wishes to join must have Free Running, at least one Science skill, and preferably Tagging too, so that they can move to and from buildings that MAIM controls, and easily display security notices to alert any of the buildings inhabitants to MAIM's actions. A Mobile Phone is also required. Also, a willingness not to do what a lot of survivor groups seem to do, which is simply group together for mutual protection and to protect a building or suburb without adding any unique factors to their cause, is also needed.
In short, the following criteria need to be met to be eligible for recruitment:
Free Running
A Science skill
A Mobile Phone
Stationed in Vinetown
If you want to join the Maltonian Art for Intelligent Minds Society then either use a Mobile Phone to contact the Head of Public Relations or ask at St. John's Cathedral for more information.
Important Locations
The Dinovan Monument, M.A.I.M.'s first revive point
St. John's Cathedral, our central HQ. if this ever comes under attack then all active members of M.A.I.M. must return to it immediately.
History
The Maltonian Art for Intelligent Minds Society was founded by four well-spoken survivors in the aftermath of the outbreaks, on the 15th of March. They promptly began the long process of restoring St. John's Cathedral in Vinetown to its former glory, reconstructing works of art and literature which had been destroyed in acts of violence by survivors and zombies alike. Almost immediately, they received word that a zombie horde, the Church of the Resurrection, was headed straight for them. They discovered this to be true as the shambling monsters gradually made their way to the cathedral.
Unfortunately, most of the members of MAIM defending the cathedral were killed after scant days of fighting, in the first few breaches of the barricades, and six of them were corpses by the 20th of March. However, members of other survivor groups who had arrived to defend the cathedral, particularly the Disgruntled Heroes, helped to fend off the attacking zombies. Making their way North, to Pegton, the now zombified members of MAIM awaited revivification. Soon enough, many of them were alive again on the 23rd, though the Church had seemingly left the cathedral. Even on the 26th of March several members of MAIM still required revivificiation, though the group was slowly being brought back to life once more.
By mid-April, the Society had begun its work in restoring Vinetown, with the colonization of St. John's Cathedral and the surrounding Museums, Libraries and Schools. Numerous new members were recruited during this period of time. They had fully organized themselves, setting up safehouses and revive points.
News spread of the impending invasion of Vinetown by The Shining Ones and the M.A.I.M. Society began to build their barricades higher and stronger. However, despite their efforts that allowed them to hold out for several days, they still succumbed to the horde. The recently established revive points helped a great deal in bringing the group back from the undead, even with the zombie menace still present in Vinetown. After this point, the Society helped to fight off continuous zombie attacks, from large groups of ferals and the last members of The Shining Ones, in the wake of the assault on Vinetown.
