UDWiki talk:Administration/Policy Discussion/Suggestion Rule Changes

Actually, I prefer the seperate systems, keeps policy discussions free and keeps the voting too the people most frequently effected by the rule. Now if this were a policy requiring a community vote in the designated area for the suggestions rules too be altered, with a definite 2/3rds majority that might be nice, just too have on the books as a wiki policy.--Karekmaps?! 18:18, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

The separate systerms work quite nicely IMHO. That said, if you want tidiness, then you could suggest a seperate system for suggestions policy emulating the one we have here. I think that mixing up suggestions policy changes with other, more important changes that can be suggested through A/PD steals merit from the latter, while adding nothing to the former. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 19:08, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

I feel that the suggestions area is becoming more and more like an administration page. Should it be like that? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:45, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

No.--Karekmaps?! 16:44, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Well then should this even go ahead? I like the fact that category:current suggestions is treated differently, with a community-focus. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 21:12, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I do too which is why I'll vote against this.--Karekmaps?! 07:52, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I saw something like this before, but I forget where exactly. But they key reason not to have the rule changes for suggestions on the A/PD page is that it would stifle discussion. People wouldn't want to make a whole new page just to discuss an idea, especially in an area which they would most likely get flamed for. Also the rule changes to the suggestions system only affects those pages, so why bother the whole community about it? - If Jedaz = 22:58, 9 December 2007 (BST) then pi = 2 + 1
