I know that i'm not a sysop (I get the feeling that i'd have to be a lot more knowlegable, and a lot more mature to become one) But this seems to be a time saving rule that can still be reversed if needed. Why the hell not?--Seventythree 20:45, 14 July 2007 (BST)

You don't need to be a Sysop in order to have a voice here, and I thank you for your support for the policy. Sure, it IS a time saving policy and that's why I created it. It's quite dumb to have things moved and waiting for another Sysop to delete the redirects we end up creating every time. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 20:54, 14 July 2007 (BST)

Huh, I always thought that sysops just waited around for a bit, to look good, then deleted the redirect or whatever. But I guess not, huh? In that case, this is an excellent idea.--Lachryma 21:09, 14 July 2007 (BST)

This is already covered under scheduled deletions, here. Unused redirects resulting from page moves - redirects resulting from moves, that only show admin pages in their "what links here" list. Approved 3 Mar 2007. But I don't often do it, because I figure that putting the {{movedelete}} template on it, and leaving it for a week or two gives the newbies (who cause most pagemoves) a chance to find where I moved their page too -- boxy T Nuts2U DA 01:20, 15 July 2007 (BST)

Ah ha, I was right! They do delete it themselves!--Lachryma 01:29, 15 July 2007 (BST)
Jesus, the whole thing gets quite bogged down, doesn't it? Sounds like the least contentious policy change ever! Bet someone will object somewhere, though!--Crabappleslegalteam 02:53, 15 July 2007 (BST)
We have to vote for something like this?--Wooty 17:09, 15 July 2007 (BST)
Oh, I see. When page moves were available for the general population, I used to point newbies on their talk pages every page move I made and how to correctly make subpages for their in-game characters and such, but I get your point. I tought you HAD to do it because all of you do it every time, but now I won't report redirects on the SD page anymore =D. Do I leave this PD or it's just unnecessary? --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 20:34, 15 July 2007 (BST)
Actually you probably should continue to report them in a place where people will actually see it otherwise you just cause hassles for everyone due to your* laziness. People should be informed when things move so they can update links and such unless the old page becomes a redirect(pretty sure they don't).*royal/generic you/your take offense and I'll insult your understanding of english--karek 02:51, 16 July 2007 (BST)
Classic newbies don't check Administrational pages, at least no more often than their own talk pages. I was saying that I'm going to tell newbies about my moves (and redirect deletions) on their own talk pages as I used to in order to keep them informed. About your little message, I couldn't possibly take offense from the comments of some guy that pretends to teach me English when his own gramatics knowledge is far from perfect. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 00:44, 17 July 2007 (BST)
Hey now, let's keep the attacks based to calling each other 3 letter words, just like we used to in Counter Strike, okay? ;).-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 00:47, 17 July 2007 (BST)
People around here is becoming too sophisticated for that SA. I get (and give) my own load of three, four, five and six letter insults on Battlefield 1942 clan matchs nowadays, so I'm satisfied anyways =P. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 02:22, 17 July 2007 (BST)
It's redundant, so may as well withdraw it -- boxy T Nuts2U DA 04:32, 17 July 2007 (BST)
Mmmmkay. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 05:28, 17 July 2007 (BST)
