You are incapacitated atop the roof of Caiger Mall. Some construction has been started for a second floor. Skylights adorn the roof surface in triangular peaks, they look too weak to walk on. Empty spray cans, dried paint cans and frayed brushes litter the ground. A pools of blood congeals between grooves on the roof.
Somebody has spraypainted HELP ALIVE INSIDE onto the ground in large bold lettering.
There is a lone monster here.
- You grab your gun, intending to use it (grand idea). Raising it up, you somehow manage to get three shots off in the thing's direction before it clips your head, sending you swinging backward in mad fashion.
There is a short instance of clarity as you tumble through the air, and you look at the thing. An absurd thought crosses your mind: it has no mouth, and you wonder how the poor thing must eat.
