You are inside the Portman Building, an elongated building with offices. The floor is a slick, broken mess of dried and fresh blood. The door to the building has been secured. Also here is Totes (5HP).

There is a dead body here. It's Volker.

You look at the bodies of Totes and Volker. The later has had his back splayed open (his spine is... somewhere) and there are little cuts on his face and neck. His hands--his fingers are bent, bloody. You have no idea if that means anything, but he probably clawed at his face. You wonder what did this; it was probably Volker. You look at slumped Totes. There is no way Volker tore out his own back-side.

If you knew more about things in the proper way to know what this means, here then would logic be useful. So far, you have only been in the habit of seeing bodies as scenery.*

Totes shifts because she isn't dead.

Since your last turn:
Totes looks at you. (2 seconds ago)
Totes says "Something's wrong." (now)
Possible actions:
"Totes! You're alive!" "Are you alright? What happened?"
Inventory:
You carry a knife, a journal, a bloodied radio and a flare gun. You have a pistol (12) and three spare magazines inside your vest pouches. You are wearing a tactical vest, blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of shoes.
